Beta Patch 0.10.0 - 19 September 2004
Several old trade skills are being turned into secondary skills. These do not count toward your two-profession limit, so players can learn all three secondary skills, in addition to their two professions, without restriction. ----->The survival skill is being removed<---- and campfires have been folded into the cooking profession. The secondary skills are: cooking, fishing, and first aid.

It pretty much allowed you to make campfires. I don't quite remember the specifics though.

it was probably like what camp making did back in Ultima. It allows you to camp out anywhere in the wild and receive rested XP bonus.
I would like to see something like that. Maybe not full rested xp, but maybe it goes up at half speed or some such percentage if you are in a camp, such as the expedition in STV. Perhaps if you log out inside of a tent or an abandoned hut.

It seems it was a skill that allowed you to make campfires and gave you and your party +spirit for doing so. I imagine that Survival gave +spirit and Cooking +stamina originally, and when rolled together food gives both.

Don't fires still give +4 spirit, or did they take that out at some point too? I remember I used to get that buff from camp fires, lasted 60 seconds after you moved away from the fire.
