Enchanting vs. Herbalism?Follow

As a clothie, which is better to take up to go with tailoring?

Herbalism is appealing because it seems to have reliable, if not overly lucrative, profits (mining, in retrospect, seems better for just the cash grind). And, I've already got 150 Herbalism.

On the other hand, being able to enchant your own things is nice, and I've heard that it's possible to make money off of it by some intelligent use of the auction house for selling disenchanted materials. And, I've also heard that it's ludicrously expensive.

Any ideas as to which would be better?

Tailoring is a money loser. Sell cloth instead. If you're looking at it to make stuff for yourself, it's cheaper to buy at the AH than to make it.

Herbalism is easier to level than mining (at least in my opinion). Mining actually gets you more gold, but herbalism isn't bad.

It's ludicrously money-making, as long as you don't actually go out and hawk enchants but sell the mats instead. Get yourself Auctioneer and Enchantrix (not Auctioneer advanced - it's not compatible with Enchantrix yet). Buy cheap greens at the AH and DE them. To level enchanting, enchant and re-enchant your own stuff.

SUMARY:

Keep Herbalism, since you already have it at a decent level. Drop tailoring until L70 and power-level it up then for the BoP purples. Have Enchanting replace Tailoring.

You'll find that as you get into the higher level zones, herbalism will begin to net a similar, if not greater, revenue than mining will. Since you've already got it up to a decent skill, stick with it. Mining is much slower to level despite it being more profitable initially.

you can't wear the BoP purples if you drop tailoring

level as an herb/enchanter
at 70, drop herb to powerlevel tailoring
i did this with skinner/enchanter -> tailor/enchanter... i'm very happy with how it worked out

DE for profit, and use the extra mats to level your enchanting skill. do not dump a bunch of gold into power leveling enchanting. take your time with it.

He meant drop tailoring for enchanting until you get to 70, then power-level tailoring to get the crafted epics.
