I am a lvl 27 mage and am at lvl 75/75 for tailoring. I can't seem to advance; how do I train up my tailoring skill? Trainers I go to that I can learn from have nothing left for me to learn and higher level trainers say to come back when I am at a higher level...
first direction. go read the FAQ on skilling up your tailoring profession. they usually will have trainer locations and level requirments for you to look over.
next, go to the trainer that you were last able to buy skills from. in his greetings text before you go to the buying skills interface....he will usually direct you to the next level trainer.
If you are allaince, try the mage 1/4 in SW.

In the menu bar to the left of all Allakhazam's WoW web pages, including this one, down near the bottom you will find a category named 'Trade Skills' and under that 'List of Trainers'. Click on that to find your next trainer.
I sense a true newbie. I was there not so long ago so I can empathise with your predicament. Also, welcome to Allakhazam.
You've reached the maximum for your skill level, as you have realised. You need to visit a trainer to learn the next level of tailoring, which will increase the limit to 150.
