Making G vs. Getting GearFollow

#1 Oct 23 2007 at 8:58 AM Rating: Decent
So I just started a new toon (cow shammy) and had to go over the job picking again. Being around TB for the start I picked up skinning. But I was torn for my other one. My other toons were a lock, warrior, and mage. Now those are easy. My last one was my mage and I went with enchanting/herbs instead of the usual enchanting/tailoring for the squishies. Then I dropped herbs at 70 and spent a day maxing out tailoring. That was easy cuz I had just been sending all my cloth to two banks i had on the server. The herbs really helped my get more G thoughout the grind and I was able to get my mount right at 40, 60, and first flying mount right at 70 with some G to spare.

So I guess my question is, is it better to get 2 money making profs (i.e. skinning/mining) for my shammy? Or just get LW now so I don't have to lvl it up later? Or for a shammy would I even need gear from LW at 70?

If you feel comfortable in your 70's ability to make money with dailies, disenchanting, etc., then do what you like. You can always change later.

If you enjoy and excel at running instances, you need not get a crafting profession. You'll eventually get the armor and weaponry you want. Alchemy is probably the only crafting profession you might consider in that case.

Also, at 40 your Shaman, as well as Hunters can wear mail. LW does add Mail gear and some is not bad, I am wearing the greendragon set at 57, +20 mp5, and waiting for more patterns for black dragonscale. Blue dragonscale is more for Shamon with + int and +spi plus Arc Res.
