New 2.3 changes - Training gets easierFollow

#1 Oct 23 2007 at 4:20 AM Rating: Excellent
Here's a couple additions to the Patch 2.3 PTR notes relating to tradeskills. These changes will make it easier for players to train.

- All primary profession trainers outside of capitals (Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring) have been changed to train up to Artisan level (skill level 300) in their respective professions.
- The capital cities now possess Artisan level trainers for the primary professions they support, and are surrounded by their newly-dubbed Apprentices where applicable. Please visit your local Master trainer when you wish to train.

It is nice, but really, if someone is already on the path of powerleveling anything then they have gold and knowledge how to use OL at any level.

I would like to see class trainers in OL actually, at least for level 58 up.

The thing I like about this is being able to skill up quickly in one place.

I've been working on my new level 24 Warrior's blacksmithing. Mining copper/tin/iron with my Pally on his epic/crusader aura then mailing the mats to the Warrior. Problem is the only 150-225 trainer is in Orgrimmar. And the walk from the bank/mailbox/anvil/trainer/AH stinks. I'd rather do it in Thunder Bluff where everything is closer, but they don't have that level trainer.

This will cut down on time and running back and forth. Nice. =)

Sounds like they finally decided to get the Enchanters without the expansion a place to train outside of Uldaman.

This just makes me want the new patch even more. My mage alt is at 35 with Alchemy maxed at 225; the Artisan trainer is currently in Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas, and it's been driving me nuts 'cause I can't keep leveling my profession...

Feathermoon shouldn't be too hard for a 35 to get to. Get to Stonetalon (Nijel's point if you have the FP) and cut south across Desolace, which shouldn't be too bad if you stay on the road. After that its straight south through Feralas and then over to the dock, wait on the boat or swim across. You shouldn't aggro much of anything unless a wolf, bear or gorrilla gets too close to the road in north Feralas. After that you will have the FP to Feathermoon and never have to worry about it again.

Worst case scenario...butt naked corpse run but I think thats a small price to pay for a raise in level cap and access to the fly point.

There's a high level trainer in Booty Bay and the run to the Bank/Mailbox from his hut isn't too bad.

I swam to BB with my Pally at that level (of your warrior) from Westfall. Long swim but it was worth it.

Yeah, but that's the 225-300 trainer, and I am only at 150 at the moment so that guys not going to train me at all. It will be helpful once I get there. And as far as I know, the guy in Booty Bay is the *only* 225-300 BS trainer there is(sorry I forget the names for the different levels). That is according to the new World Map info on the official site. I'm pretty sure if you aren't high enough level to train his skills the trainers tell you to get lost(basically) until you are high enough level.

Also, you can't train that level of blacksmithing until you are 200 bs and level 35. It's no biggie, I'll deal with it until the patch. And I may already be level 35 and not care by then also. Still like TB for the closeness of everything. =)

Yeah, I like Stormwind for many reasons, but having the only forge/anvil at the far end of the city from the bank is a major pain in the backside. It’ll be nice to have centralized trainers in each city to allow players to practice their trade skills in the city of their choosing.
