Blacksmithing 260+ - How?Follow

My warrior is at BS 264 right now and everything is green. I haven't found any recipes on the AH to help. I've made a good 12 to 15 Mithril spurs since 261 and have gotten three skill-ups. Any suggestions? Or do I just have to suck it up and keep going with the spurs?

Thanks.

Google search for blacksmithing 1-375 or 1-300 guides. There are several good ones, and I used a couple of different ones to compare and give me options at certain points during my power leveling. You may want to follow different ones than I did.

Without looking, I am pretty sure that you are about to enter the thorium black hole. However, I do remember making dozens and dozens of mithril spurs.

From around 260+, I think I relied mostly on patterns you buy (with thorium) from the thorium brotherhood guy in gadget in tanaris. 260 to 300 or so was the worst for me. Thorium was scarce and competition was fierce for it on my server.

Thanks. Yes, I did check out Ten-Ton Hammer's and the WoWWiki guide, but they both call for Mithril Spurs. I was hoping someone had another idea.

I guess its the only option, I'll just keep at it.

This one mentions mithril spurs, saying they are the cheapest, but does post alternatives.

Thanks for that aardfrith, I'll keep an eye out for those recipes now. And rate-up for both of you for your excellent responses!

From the O-Boards PL guide:

Quote:

Armoursmiths make the following:
Earthforged Leggings (16 x Mithril Bar, 2 x Core of Earth) x 10

Weaponsmiths make any of the following:
Light Earthforged Blade (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Core of Earth) x 10
Light Emberforged Hammer (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Heart of Fire) x 10
Light Skyforged Axe (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Breath of Wind) x 10

Leveling BS from 260-300 was the second worst period for me, 350-375 being the undeniable worst.

I used Mithril Spurs until I couldn't skill up from them anymore. After that, I did the Thorium Brotherhood items, which you get in Tanaris. I used a very large amount of Thorium, mostly purchased from AH. Spent a good few hundred gold.

The amount of thorium is a *****, i know.. but when your a miner high enough to mine thorium you'll find plenty in EPL and WPL just run around and you'll be mining many Rich Thorium veins..

The only problems i've encountered with BS is the last 10 points as for you have to grind (or buy) a lot of motes for primals and have have the appropriate rep.lvl for the recipes

To get from I think 265 through 300 was all thorium for me.
The 2 or 3 cheapest thorium recipes that you can get from the Thorium Brotherhood in Tanaris, and maybe one more recipe closer to 300, is all I ever got.

I farmed for thorium in Un Goro, especially the oozing thorium mines guarded by the insects in the south central part of the zone. Winterspring also has quite a few thorium mining areas as well.

Thorium bracers, then Thorium boots - patterns are usually fairly cheap on the AH, and no expensive mats - just thorium and power crystals. And I spent a lot of time in Un'Goro collecting both!

Get Thorium recipies in Gagetzan and farm as much thorium. It was a tough bump to get to 300, but by that time, my mining was 375 and I had enough fel iron to move me to 325 within a day. They need to nerf BS!
