Alchemy - Transmute master..Follow

#1 Oct 20 2007 at 7:53 AM Rating: Decent
Hey hey.

The thing is like this.

I have a lvl 70 s-priest with Alchemy,

and I've got a rogue at lvl 70 too, and I also got alchemy there now just cause I earn easily money on my priest thru that profession.

On my priest im Elixir master, but the real money comes from Transmute. I make a Primal earth to a Primal water. :o

and I've decided that I should so the "same" with my rogue, transmute that is, to earn money.

The only question I have... what should I transmute? how often does it procc?

Cause, doing Primal Might and not get a extra I dont earn any money on... but if I would make 2-4 extra per week(by transmuting every day) I could earn quite alot on doing primal might.

but if I just get like 1extra every week I think im better of doing just Primal earth - Primal water... Cause there I earn atleast 15g(usually around 20g though) every day even if I dont make extra's...

if I do a rough calculation, no extra's at all..
Primal might: 0g per week.
Primal water: 95g per week.

1 extra every week,
Primal might: 90g per week.
Primal water: 110g per week.

2 extra every week:
Primal might: 180g per week
Primal water 125g per week.

As you can see.. I have one way I will make money on, and one I can earn alot money on to do..

I have a hard time deciding... What do you guys think?

(if it was unclear at a point or so, My priest is Elixir master, my Rogue is going to be Transmute master)

Procs are not reliable and if you transmute and don't get one, its a full 24 hours before you can even attempt again. The other two masteries, if you don't get a proc, you can immediately try again. That's why I switched to potion and I'm much happier. Having said that, I think you would be better off making something you KNOW would make money w/o procs rather than trying to rely on procs to make money. That is, unless you're willing to farm all the mats for the might and make money regardless of procs.

not really, it's just 23hours! :P

But ye...

allright, I think I will actually go with the version where I just buy a primal earth and transmute it to a water...

(I just thought there might be a bit higher chance on transmute to make extra's since you can only do one every 23hours... but okey.. :))

Your best bet would be one of your characters with potion mastery and the other with elixir mastery; this way you won't have to purchase or grind potion recipes with your elixir master and vice versa - and if you need pots or flasks made, you've got a chance to proc on them too. Use your transmutes to supplement your income and provide you with mats you may need (might, diamonds, etc). I'm seriously considering teaching a second character alchemy just to have two different masteries available.

:o

That was really smart... maybe I should do that instead.

I will think about it.

I do that and its nice income. Mats are very cheap even if you buy them all (but primal water ofc), I fish for water and mine/prospect on alt for gems.
I make nice profit even without procs.

I did notice that diamonds proc pretty often for me tho, while earth to water never did.
