Currently On my lvl 70 Feral Druid I have Herb and Skin maxed at 375. I am planning to pick up LW, but wasn't sure what to skill to drop first.

Little background info -- I have already paid for the epic flying skill. I picked the weeds for the druid quest for epic flight form. Currently I am flying around on the Swift Blue birdie (+280 speed). I have no Alchemist above 300 skill. All the mats that I had acquired previously have been sold on the AH to get my fast flying mount.

On my server the Herbs sell much better than the Skins. I may also be able to get some help from guildies with the skins that I may need. I also have a miner at 375 and an enchanter at 369 (or so).

So the question is -- Do I drop Herb and just skin a bunch of beasts for the mats I need and in the process gimp my G making ability .... or drop Skin and just buy everything off AH and/or beg guildies for help getting skill up?

My next toon that has skinning is like lvl 25 with approx 200 skinning.

I think I would get skins, then drop it or keep it to go with LW. You will want to farm Knothide and Clefthide for the last 75 points in LW, the rest is cheap and or easy to get if needed. You also want to look at the speciality you want and stock mats there. I went Dragonscale and that takes a ton of scales, not costly but not on AH in quanities needed. An alt or guildies can fill in the rest.

Yes, i'm with the last reply, now its time to lvl that 200 skinng alt (and skin along the way). Keep on playing your main and indeed stack up the skins needed to lvl up (get a good guide).

The reason you take LW is for the high-end BoP items right? That means a lot of mats which will be very expensive and i think you want to keep some money...

IMO Herbing beats the pants off skinning.

The main LWer's in my guild dropped skinning as soon as they finished their epic sets. It serves no real purpose after you get you set item. The gold amount that you are able to collect, picking herbs, should out weigh that of what you will get if you skin. Mainly as there is a much higher demand for herbs then the skins, due to guilds using a lot of consumables.

But in saying that I don't know what sort of amounts of skin you'll need to level it up.

However, again, fellow guildies have spent the better part of a whole Saturday leveling mining up, ie 325+ with relative ease, Its boring as hell, but it will probably save you some gold. Either way your in for a few long, long days.
