Disenchanting for magic essenceFollow

Is there a list that shows which items give what when you disenchant them? I've been buying cheap items at AH to disenchant and keep getting dust and rarely ever get magic essence which I need. I just got my skill up to 75.

Try that.

Weapons usually grant more essences, while armor will give you dust. That is actually true 80% of the time.

You can also buy some essences at your local enchanting supplier, but not so many. Depending on your server economy, those might actually be cheaper than buying greens to d/e.

Sell the dust. At the very least, you will make gold.

The Enchantrix addon that comes with Auctioneer will tell you what the percentages are on disenchanting. Items drop probabilistically(sp?). So it will tell you what the liklihood is of you getting a particular result from disenchanting something. There is always an element of luck.
