I've just got journeyman mining which should allow me to smelt tin, silver and something else.

As I was able to mine tine when I hit mining skill 65, I did so, expecting to be able to smelt it once I hit journeyman and received the training.

I went to Stormwind, got the journeyman training and headed for the nearest forge with my tin ore, only to find no menu for smelting it, just copper still.

Is there something I need to do to enable the smelting of tin?

Yes I know I'm a newbie but we all had to learn at some time:).

You have to learn how to smelt the ore from your mining trainer.

Edit: I should have added that the same holds true for every other ore.

Oh I see! So while I was getting the journeyman training I should have paid a bit extra for each of the available ore choices!

I feel so stupid when my qestions have such simple answers. I think I should retire to a corner and bang my head against a wall for a while!

I had the same thing, could mine tin and not melt it, stupid me.

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one who's made this mistake!

I dread to think what mistakes I can make when (and if) I reach the higher levels!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes that they later come to believe are dumb. We've all made similar mistakes.
