Mining - Motes of EarthFollow

After 2.2 went live I noticed a steep decline in the number of motes of earth that I could get from mining. Was I just unlucky these past few days or did other people notice a decline in the motes drop from ore spawns, too ?

(Patch notes don't mention anything so it could very well be my imagination or bad luck on my part, but a few friends had the same "problem".)

If anything, I've had the exact opposite happen to me. These last few days I've been getting 1-3 motes on almost every node of adamantite (I get a lot fewer from the other ores), more from rich adamantite. Pity Primal Earth is so cheap on my server, because I'm usually toting quite a few of them around at any given time.

Of course, I could just be on a lucky streak...but like I said it's been happening for days already, and my luck just ain't that good.

well, that's why they're so cheap. tons of miners who do it for money, get tons of motes they don't need or use, and therefore the market gets saturated. motes of fire drop less often and also are used in more useful recipes, so i think this is why the prices for fire haven't dropped like earth.

i haven't noticed any difference up or down. seems about the same to me.

I haven't noticed a change, either better or worse, since the patch. Found a couple more silver nodes than I usually do, but I think that's just random luck. As far as how many times I get to pound on the node with my pick (I assume this is what you mean by "mote"), still seems to be random between 2 and 4 times for me.

Nope .... when you mine an adamantite or fel iron node in outlands, you have a chance to also mine up a mote of earth (or even a few) in addition to the ore. You can combine 10 motes of earth into one primal earth which are used in various recipes of the 300+ variety.
