I need to make some cash on my Rogue to buy various things, and I was wondering what herbs would be most profitable to farm with say an hour here and there just flying on my normal speed flying mount.

On my server its fel lotus atm. Last I heard it was 30g per... patches FTW right? bleh
Yes but fel lotus comes from other herbs, you can't farm it. I usually get it from felweed myself, but I think it comes from anything.
The best selling stacks of herbs on my server are ancient lichen (you can farm slave pens for this), nightmare vine (found in SMV) and netherbloom (from netherstorm).

this is true on my server also. as a rogue, you can get ancient lichen pretty easily, from what i hear.
however, sometimes you shouldn't focus just on what herbs are rare (and therefore, costly). rather, focus on what herbs can be gathered the fastest and are a decent cost. eg wild steelbloom may be more than goldthorn but goldthorn is more common (even though they are both nice when sold)
in the same way, terocone, dreaming glory, and felweed are all common, and for the zones they are in, it is pretty easy to kill any surrounding mobs if you take aggro.
when i try to get nightmare vine or netherbloom, i invariably have to fight something nearby every time since there is no higher level than 70 from which to possibly avoid some aggro.

Sold fel lotus 25 gold per. Ancient Lichen is over farmed on my server becasue I can never get it to sell for a decent price. Dreaming glory is usually 16 gold per stack (20). Felweed and Teracone 12-14 per full stack. Black lotus around 15-20 gold per. If you have herby go to the dead mire northwest of swamp rat post and you get all kinds of good herbs including Black and Fel lotus from herbing the dead mobs. I find dreamfoil and felweed on the ground and kill the tree mobs and herb them to get even more herbs. Pretty cool and I'm making decent money doing that, no to mention gaining exp from grinding mobs.

On my server, it seems to pay to get old world herbs if you can go decently fast. Spending an hour in the plaguelands I can pull up more than 60 Plaguebloom, and usually a stack of Dreamfoil. Those herbs sell for 15-18 gold per stack. If lucky, I also find a Black Lotus or two (20-30 gold each), some mountain silversage (20g a stack), and some sungrass (6-12g a stack).
Seems like a good idea if you don't have an epic flying mount yet.

Yes, they are very profitable on my server. Each mushroom sells for around 6 gold.
