LW specializationFollow

Ok, my priest got to 250 LW today and i was wondering which specialization to go. I do LW on him as a money maker because my main is a skinner who feeds him leather.

Was wondering if any of the specs make more money being sold or is it all dependant on server demand?

Never heard of LW being a money-maker yet, thats new.

In fact, your main may be better off selling the leather skinned, then send the money to your priest.
Other than that, im not too sure about your question =P

LW can make money. Not as much as the gathering skills. It can be done though. Have to just play it smart. Most of the stuff I made to level up. Just got sold as vendor trash. Still made some money off of it. Sometimes you get lucky and can sell something in the AH that is in short supply. Armor kits can be a money maker. Just depends on supply and demand.

Now what specialization to go with? I went with Dragonscale so I could make armor for myself. Don't think it makes much difference what you go with since you are a priest. Might just want to skip the specialization and stick with the regular LW. Once you get to Outland. You will have access to patterns.

Or... You could just drop LW and take up a gathering skill. More money.

What is your other profession? If it is Enchanting, make stuff with LW, and DE it and sell the enchanting mats. This is going to be by far the best way to make money. I have been using the DE for money thread for a bit now and one of the things I have been picking up quite a bit of is the nightscape items. A lot of people use them to skill up and sell them cheap on the AH.

As far as specilization goes, you are not really going to make much money off elemental (at least the few items I have done thus far). I made a Helm of Fire and the Blackstorm Leggings for my rogue, but the core of earth, heart of fire and breath of wind are expensive on my server. You would have to sell high to make a profit, and you would be better off with the mats.

My honest opinion, pick a trade that supports your character (tailoring, enchanting, herb/alch) make what you need for yourself and use your extra mats to make stuff for profit and skill ups.

Well my other proffession is tailoring to support my priest, and i decided on LW because the leather from my main wasnt selling too good. There was a time when leather was cheaper than cloth, and i would use LW and tailoring greens, send them to my enchanter, DE, then sell the dusts.

But i've decided not to really care which one i take. Im going to see which mats i get first for the quests and do that spec. If its bad, i can always change professions for a gathering one.

dragonscale I'd say. As there are more hunters than any other class.

Isn't all the specialization stuff soulbound?

I think so. Why you have leatherworking on a priest a don't know :) You would be better off with a gathering skill to make money. From what I hear, leatherworking from 350-375 is very rough and will give little reward since you can't wear any of it.

Indeed. Most of 350-375 is Riding Crops, the materials of which are not cheap by any means. The only other good option is to get Drum patterns, but those require Exalted with several factions.

And yes, the 375 specialization patterns are all BoP.

No. Speaking only from experience as an Elemental LW, there are only 2 patterns you can learn from the Elemental Trainer that are BoE. Helm of Fire and Gauntlets of the Sea. Everything else available from the trainer is BoP.

Since world drop and vendor bought patterns can now be made by any LW regardless of specialization, IMHO, you would be better off not picking a specilazation at all since you would get no benefit from the epic sets you can make at 375.

OTOH, if you want to know what some good money makers are in the different specializations, I'll say Helm of Fire was my best seller, usually selling for around 50g each. Of course this is only my experience as an Elemental LW and maybe some of the other specialist can give you an insight on what sold best for them.

Just a general point. Anyone who says LW/BS/Eng can't make money is plain wrong. Its just more complicated therefore interesting and challenging than running around gathering all day long.
