Is there a map anywhere to show where the fishing pools are?

They can occur in any body of water and they move constantly so the Map would be worthless. There is a couple fishing guides that tell you where to fish, which body has what and as always it depends on your level, you COULD catch any thing any place, just not often.

Actually the spawn point where pools form are static locations, though the type can change. Gatherer used to mark pool locations when you fished from them, but they took the feature out around the time of BC. To my knowledge there are no websites that explicitly list pool spawn locations, but if you're a fisher you can mentally remember the most common spots for them to spawn.

Generally the fish pools just contain the fish you could find in that body of water. Want some eel pools? Go to fish at areas where eels can be found. As for where the eel pools are found along the body of water, really, you’ll find out just by going there and doing some fishing. Just like finding ore and herbs…while there are maps for that, going there and getting familiar with the zone will benefit you more than depending on running to coord x,y hoping to find the herb you see on the map you grabbed.

Yes to correct myself, pools move randomly to other static spots. Like on 1 beach in 50 yards or 100 yards there might be 4 static spots, they will move between those spots and will be at two of them and none of them at times.

There is a Cartographer Fishing addon here that will track the pools you fished. I believe you need the entire Cartographer addon, but it is so useful, I do not see why you wouldn't have it. This seems to work better than Gatherer IMO for tracking nodes. Gatherer does more for searchability, but for just finding them, go with Cart...

In patch 2.3, you will be able to fish up a book that will let you track schools of fish :)
