Help with Repair Bot Schematics (Solo BRD?)Follow

#1 Sep 20 2007 at 7:20 AM Rating: Decent
I am a 66 BM Hunter with 300+ engineering, and I still don't have my repair bot, which is something I would like to change.

Is is possible at my level to solo BRD, get to Golem Lord Argelmach and pick up the schematics from the floor?

And if so, would anybody happen to know of a guide or a video helping me with this? I have been to BRD only once, a long time ago, and find it rather confusing. I have seen videos of Rogues, which of course does not help me much ;-)

I appreciate your help!

My advice would be to wait until you're 70. You shouldn't need a repair bot for the 5-man instances between now and then, and you'll cruise through BRD much easier at that point, slipping past many monsters outside their aggro radius. Also, if you have the Consortium rep, Elemental Seaforium might get you past a few doors you'd otherwise need to do a quest chain or find a rogue to open.

Other than that, I don't have any substantial advice for you. It should be possible: I solo'd the Warlock mount quest into Scholomance, which involved killing Rattlegore, at 70. Read through one of the old guides for 5-man parties to find the quickest route to the Golemlord.

i have not been to BRD on my hunter since he was 55 or 56. at that time, i could already solo the first room and then some. at 66 i should think you can solo all the trash and most of the bosses....enough to get to the bot scematic...its worth a try on your own....if nothing more then to test your leet hunter skills.

if not, 1 extra of any class 55+ will get you there

as for a map or directions....BRD gets me lost every time and i have been there plenty...someone else will have to supply the map.

I still would wait til 70, why try to do it early and have you throw gold down the drain.

I never was able to get Voone's gem from LBRS pre-BC even though I ran it every day almost. I tried to solo it again in the mid 60s and got crushed. When my warlock hit 70 I respecced just for soloing the place and got it on my 2nd try.

Do like everything else, get the mats and get someone else to make it for you...lawl..I've used this thing about 2 or 3 times, its helpful when learning new fights in 25mans

This is from the patch notes on the test server:

"Plans for a new Field Repair Bot are rumored to belong to a select few Gan'arg Analyzers in Blade's Edge Mountains."

So you may want to just wait until the next patch goes live and check that one out.

That's the new bot that takes like 100g in mats to make. Basically worthless.

At 66 you'll easily solo everything in there and can get your bot np. Bosses and all.

First off you will need the BRD key - If you dont have it, you might as well get a group together and do the key quest.

You walk in, open the door to the left, then open the door on the right wall, then their will be a keyed door directly on your left.

Walk in, watch for patrols, dont go up the stairs but go to the left, walk to the back of the room and use your key to spin the big wooden thing (im unsure what its called).

Then go back go up the first flight of stairs, hang a left walk the whole way around until you run into a room where you have the option to go left down the stairs or right down the stairs. Take the right. You will see a bunch of little gnomes. Clear out both sides of this room. That is done go into the boss room directly in front of you and kill the angelmarch and his 2 buddies. The schematic is there. :)

First be sure you have the key quest which requires your dead ghost to talk to FF at the tomb near the meeting stone. Ask a rogue or somebody with the key to open the three locked doors and the big gear for you. That'll allow you to skip the arena event. Go visit Incendius and kill the dark iron boss in the room behind him for FF's hammer. Then make your way around the top of the arena, down a small ramp to a T instersection, make a right and over to FF's statue where you turn in the hammer and get the Shadowforge key.

To get the plans, head in the third door (left at the entrance through the locked gate, right through the second locked gate and left through the locked door), up the ramp and left down the narrow hall. Down and to the right straight past all the gnomes to the dark iron boss with the repair bot plans. Be sure to clear most of the gnomes in this room (those near the entrance to the boss's room) as the dark iron boss will run out here for help.

You can probably solo this at 66. I did it on my BM hunter at about that level. I suggest respecing your pet with high stamina and high fire resistance before heading in there. If you're on Whisperwind, send me a tell and I'll help you.

Note that if you are 70 you can pick up the schematic from next to the boss and he won't aggro you. Tried and tested.

Atlas addon is really nice for navigation.
