Hi, I was told that JC could make a gem that only they could use which gives more AP than the epic one from Scale of Sands reward that's tradeable. Is that true?

If it was a gem that only JC could use then it wouldn't be tradable.

Yes there is an epic quality gem from Hyjal/BT. Its 20AP, the same as the pvp gem. I believe in the future they are adding BoP gems that will most likely be better than that, but only jewelcrafters will be able to put them into their gear.

The BoP gems are in Patch 2.2 which is supposed to go live tomorrow.
The real problem is that these gems are Unique-Equipped which means even the JC himself/herself can have only one equipped at a time. It's a bogus restriction if you ask me, and should be removed.

Ain't that the truth. I can't believe I went through all the trouble grinding rep and all the dailies farming gold to buy recipes. All for an extra +4 crit rating? And in only ONE SLOT!? Who the heck came up with this? It's useless. I'd like to thank Blizzard...for nothing =/ I didn't pick JC to make money, but some kind of return on the investment would sure be nice.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you. Basically only one gem out of all the new ones they added was worth anything to me and all it did was give me 4 crit rating. However I did decide to just eat the bullet and lose 2 mp5 on my shoulders and stick the 26 healing in there, since I wasn't getting that socket bonus anyway. So I made a little more use out of it... but I completely agree, for the most part, this addition was worthless.

My beef with JC is specific. At Lvl 280 or so, to make "Figurine - Emerald Owl", you need a mat, "Powerful Mojo". But not a single web site (that I can find) says a word about "Powerful Mojo", and the AH is silent on it as well. What gives? Has Bliz blown it and forgotten to provide a mat that one of its recipies calls for?
