Alch/Herb vs Eng/MinFollow

#1 Sep 17 2007 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, so I made a hunter alt, and I was told that engineering/mining was the way to go. So far she's up in the mid 100s, can't exactly remember, and I'm seriously disliking engineering. I was considering Alch/Herb for I have a few guildies who say it's worthwhile for later lvls. So, my question, would it be practical to switch her to Alch/Herb, or should I stick to it and wade my way through engineering?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Depends what you want to use it for. Engineering can more than make up for some gaps in hunter pvp, plus some of the trinkets are just fun. In addition if you raid with it you can make repair bots which save time.

However with alc you can supply potions to your druid which can make it easier to raid.

My warlock is an herb/alc but I'm leveling my hunter up as an engineer.

Thank you very much, I think I will switch her to Alch/Herb.

plus, if it looks like your group is going to wipe, you can always feign death and attempt to Shock the healer back to life, can tave time if it works :P

i have engineering as a way to be a completist, but i don't see much use for it either on a daily basis. there certainly have been times that it's good to have some stuff that i made from engineering. eg every now and then, when i go on a fishing binge, i'll make my own 20-40 or more fishing lures.

no one complains if you don't have that trinket to revive someone (in case of instance wipe). it's not like a paladin who didn't learn the resurrect spell; no one will say, you're a engineer! how come you don't have the resurrect trinket?

so essentially, engineering then, tends to be something you use for yourself. if you don't find much use or interest in those items, then i'd also recommend you to take up another tradeskill.
