Hey, my LW char has got around about 260 in LW and I'm finding it hard to level it up without having to spend tonnes of gold.

Any suggestions on patterns that have relatively cheap regeants but would still level up my LW skill?

PS. I'm a lvl48 druid on horde side.

Thanks in advance.

try googling 1-375 leatherworking guide

you will come up with more guides than you know what to do with.

When I went from about 260-300, I did a lot of farming in Winterspring. As a Tribal LW specialty, there are several Chimeric, Frostsaber, and Warbear items that cover the range of about 265-305 roughly. I got most of my points in that range from those items.

I don't know how easy it is to change between tribal, elemental, and dragonscale, but going tribal for that stretch may be worth it. Once you're in the low- to mid-50s level range, you can quest and kill/skin in Winterspring and kill two birds with one stone.

You don't have to be a Tribal LW to craft these items. I'm Elemental and made a lot of Chimeric and Frostsaber items at that range. I bought the patterns from the AH for fairly cheap and farmed the crap out of Chimeras and Frostsabers in Winterspring. There is no need to change specializations. The warbear patterns can be bought from Meilosh with friendly reputation with the Timbermaw or can be obtained via world drops..check the link and link here.

edit: spelling is teh sux

Okay, good to know. My bad on the tribal. Those patterns are listed under tribal on Alla's trade skills by trade page. Maybe it changed with BC and the changes to specialization that came with BC. I did that level range before the expansion and thought I recalled them requiring tribal. If not...cool cool. They are a good way to get through the high 200s skill points.

You mentioned gold. If you aren’t skinning them yourself, then yes, the leather needed will be a hefty sum at the AH.

If you are skinning, at your level, do feralas and un’goro quests for some leather. When you need more, farm those same creatures even after you have quested on them.

Wicked and runic leather items should be able to take you up to 295 or so, even 300 if you don’t mind doing some green recipes for those last 5 points.

I’ve done LW twice to 300 and never really had to do any chimera or wintersabre skinned recipes for skill-up. The 2nd time around, I even skipped the whole turtle/scorpid/tough scorpid items (because of not wanting to collect scales), and just used regular thick or rugged recipes.
