cloth gathering???Follow

#1 Aug 15 2007 at 3:23 PM Rating: Default
ok so here is my situation. and sorry if this has been posted before.

i am a lvl 43 shadow priest right now. i have used herbalism for money to gather and sell i was originally going to go alchemy but then decided against it. then i wanted to go enchanting but i never went back to get greens that i needed to disenchant and whatnot. so now i know i want to go tailoring so at 70 and i make the armor i want for my toon. but as lvl 43 and running ZF and stuff like that i am not getting any linen cloth or wool and i don't want to spend the 2-3g per stack for the cloth.

where can i go to just farm out enough linen and wool to get my tailoring up to my lvl. i have tons of silk and lots of mageweave that i have been saving for the future. but i need the low stuff to get it up.

thanks again for the help.

Linen is dropped by humanoid mobs in zones level 1 - 13. Wool is dropped by humanoid mobs level 11-23. The next ten levels are mageweave, the next ten runecloth. So pick a zone with lots of humanoid opponents in the appropriate levels and have fun.

went through the same thing and found for alliance...

Dungeon mines in westfall is insane for linen and you could help a noob or low lev guildie by letting them tag along and get the bops and loot,.
(but if you solo you can keep the greens for d/e on an enchanter alt.)

right in SW is stockades which is easy to get to and drops a ton of wool.

havent found a good place for silk yet.

As far as enchanting goes, I feel everyone should have an alt for dis-enchanting. Vendoring greens is such a waste when what sells for 1g could gain you 10 if you d/e)

Dont need a main for disenchanting stuff, If you run these places above, you could start a good enchanter alt very easily with all the greens. Its also great to mail stuff to them and only log on every 5 days to d/e stuff, big time saver.

Easiest place for silk at that level might be harpies in thousand needles or Scarlet Monastery.

If you fish, then I would recommend the coasts of Darkshore and Wetlands, really anywhere with sea coast, and look for floating wreckage. You will get some drops of linen and woolen cloths in the chests that you 'catch'.

When I decided to switch to tailoring, the best way I found to get the lower level cloth is to rep grind for a couple days... I ended up with hundreds of linen and wool cloth after finishing all of the 1-25 quests (and a couple stacks of silk too).

Lotta work for not that much reward.

OP: Look in the items section on this site. It'll show you which mobs drop what you want and in approximate %'s.

On the coast of westfall there is a place with a windmill, where there are a lot of fast spawning defias mobs. They drop lots of linen cloth, and is very good for farming it. I think it was even more earlier, and it was nerfed in a patch. But it is still a very good place for it. Of course for both linen and wool cloth I recommend soloing Deadmines, as this also give you heaps of greens for disenchanting.

Good luck on maxing your tailoring.

Also for silk , try Gnome Place (near IF) .. i wnet there boosting somone today .. and i must have left nearly over 3-4 stacks (20x3=60 )(20x4=80) ..
now im not saying slik is low but when your use to moonclouth , and rune clouthand so on droping itis .. so Try 1. DM 2. Berl'in Place in SPF (map = http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/4139/spfng7.jpg ) , and also try 3. Gnome (near IF ) ..

Hope i help you out ..

Farming gray mobs is just silly:

1. farm mageweave (and get experience while doing so)

2. sell the mageweave.

3. buy the linen and wool cloth.

4. profit
#17 Aug 24 2007 at 8:37 AM Rating: Default
yeah but i save the mageweave cause i will need it soon. plus i am also working on first aid. so it is rough to get both and have to use half for each.

plus i can pound out greys way easy.

I created an alt. mage with tailoring and now have it up to 225/225 tailoring at lvl. 27. I used my main to farm DM, stocks & SM the cloth drops are very good in all of them, plus you get greens that you can DE or sell for more profit. So it is not a total waste of time to farm the lower instences for cloth. I made lots of gold plus got my tailoring, first aid and enchanting maxed out plus still have lots of enchanting mats and cloth to sell.
