I was bored, so I rolled a Horde character on this server and ran all the way up to Orgrimmar to verify. It looks like they reprimanded whoever was doing this, because while there is someone selling single copper bars, there are only four pages of copper bars for sale in AH at the moment.
Out of 154 auctions, it looks like approx. 140 of them are this person selling single bars.

just dont buy from that person. even if it takes you more time to search through all the other auctions eventually they will just be wasting their time on all their single auctions and learn that it is pointless. on my server i will not buy from someone who has many singles or multiple stacks of the same item in the ah at once or bank accounts. i dont mind spending a little bit more time and money because i feel as though it helps others who cant farm all day out more
Have the same crap going on horde side on my server with arcane dust. Generally well over 1000 auctions by the same person selling in singles. Most listing's I've ever seen for arcane dust was nearing 3000 with less than a page of people other than the Richard in question.
Update: The player has stopped posting his thousands of bars. When I tried to mail him a single crude shot, "no such player". Kudos, bliz.

As I said in my first post, yes, scores of pages of copper bars. (A score is 20...maybe people aren't familiar with the quantity). All singles, all the same poster. I clicked through them, first to find a competitor, then in growing disbelief, then in disgust. It took a looong time.
It was ridiculous. It was happening. It's over now, thank god, and my Auctioneer no longer hangs up.
