Aldor vs. ScryerFollow

#1 Aug 11 2007 at 5:53 AM Rating: Decent
Both the Aldor and the Scryer have recipes for Leatherworking, Jewelcrafting, etc. So, if you choose one, you're missing out on the others. Is there anyway that a LW like me can get the patterns that the Scryer's sell if I choose Aldor or vice versa?

do not believe so, they require the faction to be learned/used (I think).

You have to choose- you can potentially get reputation with one, get the patterns, and then switch- but every rep gain with one faction results in a rep loss with the other, so it would be a very long and painful endeavour. Here is a link for comparing Aldor and Scryer rewards, as well as some information which may help to influence your decision.

It is possible to get recipes from both factions, but I don't think it is worth the trouble. Should you decide you want to go for though, this is how you will have to do it:

First you choose the faction you do not want to join. Now you work your reputation up was far as you want and learn all those patterns. Once you have done this you start to collect the stuff to undo your reputation (basilik eyes or venom sacs) and undo your reputation till you hit neutral with the opposing faction.

From that point on improve your reputation just as normal. Be warned though that is a very consuming job. Especially if you aim for really high reputation levels.

I kind of got roped into a choice with these factions without doing the introduction. I had no idea they were mutually exclusive until one day the scryers would no longer talk to me. I'm an enchanter by trade; are there any exclusive enchantments that the scryers offer? I can't find any in the Aldor... yet.
