My first toon is a hunter that I went with skinning/leatherworking. Then I hit 40 and dropped them for minning/blacksmithing. after hitting 60 i have found that bs is not that great for a hunter. after 313 mining and 299 bs i dropped them and went back to skinning/leatherworking. Am I a huntard for doing this?

it probably wasn't the best path you could take but if you enjoyed your time as a miner/BS then you are not stupid. In the end that is all that matters.

Perhaps you should just use your professions to make money and do skinning and mining, herbalism, or disenchanting. You can buy any crafted gear you want.

I suggest not switching trade skills so often. All the expense of training up the crafting skill gets wasted. For a hunter, mining / engineering is good for the jumper cables and even better crowd control. Mining / blacksmithing is fine too. Herbalism / alchemy benefits most every class. Tailoring or leatherworking would be a poor choice for hunters.

I wouldn't say you are stupid. My rogue was level 35 when I found out that leathworkers get a specialization, I would imagine most people don't find this out on their own. Of course the better course would have been to take up dragonscale leatherworking at 40 but you can't undo the past. Since you already had mining up, you might have thought about dropping blacksmithing for engineering or jewelcrafting for the nice BoP items. Overall, the game is about having fun. If you are doing that, then you are not doing anything wrong.
