Possible changes to trade skills...Follow

Greetings...
I wanted to inquire to the forum about making changes to my character's trade skills. Currently they are:
Lvl 62 NE Hunter BM specialized with:
Leatherworking -- 318
Skinning -- 354
I'm currently using a regular NE saber mount but ultimatly would like a flying mount, but at the prices I know I need to generate more funds.
My question is...should I drop the leatherworking for mining or herbalism? Or am I too far gone in the leatherworking to give it up? I have so much leather stockpiled, I was going to created armor packs just to make money and clean out my bank slots. I noticed that there was other armor packs available closer to 370 skill but needed honored/exalted status.

Thanks in advance!

Keep Leatherworking - not much money in it, but you should be headed towards equipping yourself with the Ebon Netherscale set. As long as you've got it this far, you shouldn't really give it up.

I agree with mike, keep LW, it's a pain to lvl and you've gone pretty far already. Use skinning for money-making, whenever you can start grinding for some of the rarer stuff like cobra scales and the money should be coming in. Just sell the raw leather, don't bother turning it into something with LW first. Also don't worry too much about the flying mount, you still have 8 levels to go and you should be making a ton of money if you remember not to buy stuff off the AH (seriously, you don't need to!). After you've hit lvl 70 you should still have at least one entire area (usually SMV or netherstorm) full of quests and it will generate more than enough money to buy your flying mount (heck, it probably bought half of my _epic_ flying mount). So don't worry, just sell the skins and start saving.

Yeah you won't have a problem getting it. At level 70 I've made 250g one night just finishing up some quests. Some of them pay 20g per, others 10-15g. They add up quick.

You say you are on a regular saber mount. You may as well go get your epic mount now. You will need to pay for the training before you can train for your flying mount. The cost of the mount itself is the cheap part. Don't be an idiot like me, and think you're going to get by on the cheap and skip the epic land mount. I ran around until about level 64 or 65 on my "regular" mount (what an azzhat!). You'll also be able to run your quests a little quicker (more money, faster).

Good evening...
Thanks for the responses..(lol) I caint even afford the epic mount! (lol)
I might work on rep with Winterspring trainer-that mount I like just because its different. Hopefully its a little faster than standard mount...

Regards!

P.S--looked up the Ebon Netherscale set; it requires Dragonscale mastery and I never picked a mastery to train. I'm sort of a master of all leatherworking I suppose...

Yes,it is faster,as the mount is an Epic, which means you must buy the training skills to ride it. So,if you can afford the training, save yourself some mind-numbing time in Winterspring as the quest to get that mount is a 3-part chain: The first chain involves a quest which must be repeated 30 times; the second chain must be repeated 120 times; and the last link in the chain a coma-inducing 690 times to reach exalted. Zzzzzz.....
On a regular mount (you will spend more time commuting to the NPC than completing the quests themselves),and without knowing your current rep status with the Winterspring Trainer,I'd guess 90+ hours in game to get exalted with that faction.

Yes,they are cool looking because they are different, and they are extremely rare because they are so difficult to get. Save yourself alot of time (and likely some sanity) and just do what you need to do to get a "regular" Epic Kitty.
Good luck :)

It’s ok to be near 60 and not have epic land mount yet. In fact, if you do instances a lot around 60, you may not get your money just yet. But if you instead do some soloing, you should make 500-600g in no time.

As for leather, the leather you can sell now won’t be as high as it used to be, but still very profitable. Just sell that for the time being till you can get some other finances in order, so you don’t have to drop LW at all..
