you need to specify what you want.

What's your mining level?

One of the best ways I've found to gain knowledge on mining locations is to download the Cartographer and Gatherer addons, join a large guild and sit back. The combo work together to add symbols to your maps where there are veins that you have found and mined ore.

The best part is it also gathers the same information from members of your guild that have the same addons. So when I'm mining in Terrokar Forest and a guildie mines in Elwynn, we're sharing information.

I can tell that you asked this question for general information from sheer brainpower. "Any1" and "r" display your awesomeness, and your remedial English teacher will be pleased at your progress at learning your second language.

I will therefore assume your level as being 5 or close to that, and asking this question because you have no idea how to mine.

First of all, open your spellbook, and drag "find minerals" to an action bar. Clicking on that will allow you to find minerals in any zone you happen to be in. The minerals will display as yellow dots in your mini-map.

Next, go to a trade vendor and purchase a mining pick. You won't be able to mine without it in you inventory.

Finally, go out and adventure. You will find mining nodes in the course of completing quests.

I realize that this does not give the OP an immediate answer, which is what s/he is probably seeking, but I believe this is such good advice for the long term that I have to second it.

To OP: You can search here on Alla for which ores are available in a specific zone by scrolling down the menu on the left and selecting "interactive maps" under the "Geography" heading. Then simply select a zone and select "mining" for "Type." Hit "Go" and you will see what is available and where. For instance, in the Badlands you can find Gold, Iron, Mithril, Silver, and Truesilver.

Also, if you attempt to collect something you don't have the skill for, it still sends the Gather point to your guidies. So if I'm out mining and I come across an herb, I try to collect it. Of course, I can't since I don't have herbalism, but my guild mates still get the Gather on their maps.
