You can't "Unbind" items. If they are soulbound, you can either disenchant them yourself, keep them or sell them to a vendore; there is no other option available at the moment.

well it wouldn't be an addon, an addon is a user-made creation to change the interface. It would need to be added to the game by the developers, which I heavily doubt they would do that. It forces you to make a decision, either wear the clothing or sell it away at (normally) a higher price.

That's on 'addon' I'd hate to see. Soulbinding is a huge factor in keeping inflation and goldsellers in check.

There will NEVER be an addon-that unbinds soulbound items. If you can't use them you should vendor them to an NPC. The reason for soulbinding is to specifically keep them from being sold or traded to other players. It's what keeps RMT (real money trading) from taking over the game's economy.

If you can't live with this, find yourself another game.

I would like to be able to have someone disenchant my SB items for me, though, though the No Trade box. I get very frustrated having to sell quest rewards I can't use to a vendor on the cheap when I could be selling the mats for more (or giving them to the guild bank).

You could always take up Enchanting as a skill.

I could, but then I'd have to give up LW/Skinning, which I'm not willing to do. That sounds selfish, but I don't think it makes sense to require folks to dedicate one of their two profs just so they can do something with their quest rewards other than turn them into vendor trash. If that's the case, then DE should be a secondary prof in and of itself so everyone can pick it up and still keep on track with their other profs.

But it would be easier/simpler to enable chanters to DE items bound to other folks. I don't understand why this is a problem.

I don't see any problems with soulbound items as they are. If you are going to use it, fine, if not sell it. If you can't use any of the quest rewards, get an addon like Auctioneer and use it to tell you which of the options will sell for the most and choose that way.

If anyone could have their soulbound gear DEed through the Will Not be Traded box, you would end up with a bunch of mats on the AH, killing the market for Enchanters and folks that DE for money. Enchants would become worthless, mats would become worthless and you wouldn't be making the bookoos of money you think you would be making.

One of the main reasons quest rewards are soulbound is to encourage players to complete the quest to get them theirselves. I could do a quest of a UB3R cloth piece and then send it to an alt, then everyone would have kicking gear all the time.

I sign the petition to keep it exactly how it is.

When I select a quest reward from a selection that does not contain anything I need, I choose the item with the highest vendor price. Plate usually sells at the highest price. Even though I cannot equip it I can still sell it.
