The cash flows with the...?Follow

What professions (related) will make the "most" money for a druid?
As a note, I'm going feral until 70... :P then to resto! :D

this is a question excluding the common, skinning/herbalism/mining

So...
Enchant/Tailoring
Skinning/Leatherworking
Mining/Jewelcrafting/Blacksmithing
Herbalism/Alchemist (sp?)
or any others I forgot...

Sorry for the "What professions make the most money??!?!!!?!" question, but I'm just so confused!

:)

Crafting skills don't make gold, so none of the choices you listed are any good.

Money-losers you posted: Tailoring, Leatherworking, Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing, Alchemy. Enchanting is a money-loser if you think the trade skill is about enchanting things, instead of disenchanting things.

so, your basically saying that the money side of enchanting is disenchanting.
but, what about making pots to sell, or for guild raids... and JCing cuz people need/want pvp/pve gems... BS is kinda so-so, LW is more of a personal profession, not really a seller, same with tailoring... but people still
/2 LF HIGH LVL _____

as for gathering, im kinda thinking about selling that stuff when i get alot of gold, then dropping one or both for something I can use
like... get 300 on both, get a bunch of stuff, sell it, drop the things for say...
mooncloth tailoring for resto, or alchemy for pots...?

I mean, money makers are good for... well... money making, but let's face it... in end-game, its ALL ABOUT THE GEAR
some may not agree, but come on... people who inspect you at 70 and say WOW WHAT AWESOME GEAR!
or, the alternative,
dude, go l2gearup NUB!

lol... a little heated for some reason...
anyway, gatherers are cool cuz they make money, but I kinda wanted to get to 60 with stuff I can better myself at 70 with.
like, in my case, i was gonna do enchanting and tailoring, max it out by 70, get mooncloth set for my druids healiing, then enchant it all :D

anyway... i ramble so...

cheers,
Syladia :)

Enchanting and Mining as long as you use Enchanting as a gathering skill

There is so much competition that making a profit crafting (yes, even potions) is damn near impossible. Even then, the amount that you get per hour if you include your own gathering of materials is a pittance. If you have to buy mats at the AH, you won't make much either, unless you manage to find a niche market.

It's what I did, and I often regret that decision. I dropped skinning for Alchemy, under the delusion that I could make as much gold as before just making and selling potions. Instead, Alchemy costs me gold, and I don't make much per hour. I've become the guild Alchemist, though, and make potions for my guildies for free as long as the mats are provided.

You're probably better off gathering until you get your epic flyer, making a bit of additional gold, and then power levelling tailoring to make your epic BoP gear. That way, you'll end up with the best of both worlds.

so... gather till 70 (all I need is the 5000g lol, swift flight ftw)
and, if I can, make extra money with that to powerlevel my tailoring?

so im doing like... mining/skinning then at 70 and when I have epic flight money, drop...?

also, if I drop one for tailoring, should/what could i drop the other gatherer for?

and last question, epic tailoring set? :O
link please :)
I thought it was just mooncloth and the like

http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=554

is the primal mooncloth (healer) tailoring set.

I personally waited til I hit 70 (I was skinning+mining) and had plenty of money (around 2800g), then power leveled tailoring 1-375... cost me about 1500g... so now I am working back up to afford my epic flying mount. (am at around 2k right now), I kept mining but dropped skinning, I found that I made more money with mining.

:O BRAIN BLAST!
I just thought about this...
Enchanting and Mining!
:)
Since lots of people go with enchanting, and since only 1 profession (pretty much) uses skinning (LW). I figure, why not use enchanting as a gatherer for a bit, and use mining since JCers (bazillions [exaguration] of em on my server) and Blacksmiths use minerals :)
lol, but, my fall back, if i get UBER bored with mining, is enahcnting-tailoring...

oh and btw, last toon I leveled to 70 didnt even have 500g when he dinged... :(
had to borrow a heft of 900g for my non-epic flyer.

Which is basically why I rolled druid... I would never face the trauma of not have 900g :D

Agreed. Try LBRS or BRD at 70; I'd imagine they'd work well.

I thought it was just mooncloth and the like

For healing, the epic crafted set is Primal Mooncloth

Others are Spellfire, Soulcloth, and Frozen Shadowweave.

Weird... there was a rare cloth set with mooncloth in the title... anyway, thatnks for the help guys!

I believe there was, but was made during pre-BC times.

I have to say that the times that I have made the most gold are from mining and enchanting. The mats sell well for disenchanting and the ore (or bars) do well also. I have alts that have other professions, but these 2 are the consistent gold makers.

IMO Jewelcrafting is not a money loser when you treat it the same as enchanting. You're not selling cuts in /2. You're prospecting. Doing lots and lots of prospecting.

You see the mistakes many enchanters make, well many jewelcrafters make the same ones. Even at 375. They try to buyup every 500g pattern so they can be the guild JC, instead of treating it like a gathering profession.

It can be alot more expensive then enchanting, since theres far more world drop recipes. But if you treat it like gathering first (including the AH), you can make a great deal of money selling uncuts. As you come across a lot of gold, its sometimes wise to invest carefully into a select few patterns, depending on cost, server, demand, price of cut vs. uncut, etc..

Hmmm...My 375 JC alt (Now,60 Dwarf rogue,Suramar)has made about 98% of an awful lot of play money AH selling nothing but cut stoness. And an awful lot of that play money was reinvested in acquiring new cuts. This only applies to my server, but I don't know any Jewelcrafters who make claim to make money by prospecting alone. The profit comes from the value-added bonus your cut provides combined with a bit of AH savvy. Your server economy may be different. Prospecting is a crap-shoot period, and unless you mine it yourself (or have an alt who does the mining for you),you are paying gold for the privilege of rolling the dice. Based on my experience,it takes appx.2 stacks of adamantite ore to yield one blue stone. Sometimes you do very well, and sometimes you do very poorly in prospecting.
And if you are an aspiring Jewelcrafter,or are thinking about it,you are hobbling yourself if you don't mine,or have alts who do.
The "gathering" component here is two-fold; you need the ores to prospect, and you need patterns to make something of value that people will pay for.
