I leveled enchanting while I was leveling my own character and put it aside the moment i went to outland: it was stuck at 265 for several weeks. I now find myself with loads of enchanting mats, but nothing I need right now. I got over 250 arcane dusts, 30 or more greater planar(sp?) essences and a fair amount of prismatic shards but I can't use them yet. Illsion dust have higher buyouts than arcane dusts and I can't seem to find a way to make enough of it to level from 290 to 300.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get these 10 points over a short period of gameplay? Tailoring is at 365 but disenchanting runecloth crafted items yield low dust (1-2) and farming runecloth is kinda long right now.

Thanks in advance.

To get from 290-300 you will need old school mats I'm afraid.
Enchant Cloak - Superior Defense (8 x Illusion Dust)is probably the cheapest way. You also should look at creating your Runed Arcanite Rod , you will need it and it will give you a point.

Here’s a couple of ways:

1) Join groups that are running the level 60 instances. You’ll get greens and runecloth.
2) Farm the runecloth. At the same time, some greens will drop that you can d/e for your mats at that level.
3) Buy the runecloth. You can easily make up the cost of buying a few stacks of those cloth for the sake of making something you can d/e. You may not like the low dust turnout but that is still an option. Alternatively, make something higher up that will give more dust.
4) See if any guild members or friends are just at making this level of weapons/rings/armor.
5) Since you're now in the levels for arcane dusts and planar essences, go ahead and sell a few of them to get money to buy the lesser stuff. It sounds like you're taking a loss to trade one for the other, but in fact, if you think of the arcane dusts as something you got "free" from all the unuseable quest items and boe drops, then it's all "profit money" to you in one form or another.

As an example, I bought about 50 stacks of runecloth at 1-2g each. So that goes anywhere from 50-100g. Sounds like a lot, yet at the same time, being in the Outlands, this 50-100g is pretty easy to come by, probably about 1-2 hours time. And it saves me the time of having to farm 1000 runecloth, which would be much more than 2 hours.

as stated above if you have tailoring as an alt ability the stuff actually comes fairly quickly. making the lvl 260 skill armors and stuff. disenchanting them mostly give the vision dusts. actually i believe many of the lower lvl ones do also. (most of the armors and items around a lvl 45-50 requirement.)

I was in the same position as you, I got stuck around 270 because it started getting expensive and I ended up with about 1000g in Outland mats..I ended up having to spend like 250g from 265-300. Then 300-330 was free with my own mats.
