For the people who disenchant for profit, you may not know about this so I thought I'd share. I'm still working on learning what all this disenchants into regularly, but lately I've been bidding on all cheap runecloth and netherweave cloth.

Remember Rune Thread costs 50 silver from a vendor. Make sure to factor that cost in when bidding on cloth. The item I'm still not sure about is the Runecloth Headband - will a level 54 item disenchant to greater eternal essence about 20% of the time? Or will it still give you 1-2 lesser eternal essences?

Runecloth Belt - Level 46
15 runecloth
1 rune thread

Runecloth Headband - Level 54
20 runecloth
2 ironweb spider silk
1 rune thread

Netherweave Belt and/or Netherweave Bracers - Level 61
18 netherweave
1 rune thread

Netherweave Pants - Level 64
36 netherweave
1 rune thread

So what does all this mean? Well lets say you already browse the auction house daily for cheap items in these level ranges. Maybe you figured you're willing to bid 3 gold for a green item, level 58-63. Well now you can add netherweave cloth to your search for example. Just remember, since you need a rune thread for each of these recipes, to add 50 silver to your bid prices. So you'd want to bid on stacks of netherweave for 2.5 gold and under (slightly rare on most servers, maybe impossible on some).

Runecloth is usually cheap as dirt though. Something to think about, maybe a nice little way to get a handful of lesser eternal essence-- get enough of these, turn them into greater eternal essence, which sell very well on my server.

Thanks, I was looking for something like this. One little thing though, Runecloth Headband takes Ironweb Silk, not Netherweb.

Edit - I can confirm that the Headband can DE into 1-2 Greater Eternal Essences. All 56-60 items (including old-world ones) seem to DE into Lesser Planars now.

Thanks, that was a slip up by me, I'll edit the post.

So when you DE the headbands, what do you seem to get on average? I haven't gone farming this silk yet, and the AH prices are too high for me to purchase.

At 70 a quick run through plaguelands could become quite profitable for a tailor/enchanter. Of the 2 servers I play on, greater eternal essence averages 9.5g each. I havent been to the plaguelands in a while, but I remember so much runecloth dropping everywhere. Farming spiders for silk is what would take longer, somedays you might get 3, some days you might get 10.

56-60 old world items still DE into old-world enchanting mats. If you use an older version of enchantrix, it will have the DE info for old-world things and not TBC stuff so you can easily tell which things to buy off the AH.

I DEed something that I'm certain was old-world (an "of the Boar" with equal stam and spirit) and got Lesser Planar Essences.

I typically get 1-2 Illusion Dust from the Headbands, btw.

If the item was between levels 56 - 60, it could have come from Hellfire Peninsula. A lot of the Mobs on the East side of the zone (before the Elites near the portal)are level 58, 59 or 60 and they do drop items like that. Those items will DE into TBC mats, where the almost identical item from say, EPL will DE into old world mats.
