I got up to 150 LW & can't seem to get expert training.

What lvl do I have to be to get expert training ?

Also I learned Black Whelp Armor pattern, does that mean I'm locked into Dragon Patterns ?

Expert training is in Thunder Bluff or Darnassus. And no, you aren't locked in to Dragonscale. The trainers for the advanced specialty leatherworking will make it very clear when you're choosing your specialty. You have to turn in a bunch of items to them for a quest and they'll say something like "Once you learn (whatever), you will not be able to learn (whatever 2) or (whatever 3)." The trainers for the specialty ones are scattered all over the place, so you'll probably want to look them up.

a little searching shows this thread in which you can find :

Note for Alliance: Train to 150 in IF, to 225 in Darnassus, and to 300 in Aerie Peak, Hinterlands.

Note for Horde: Train to 150 in Orgrimmar, 225 in Thunder Bluff, and 300 in Camp Mojache, Feralas.

Dragonscale Trainer is in Badlands for Horde (in Middle), Azshara for Alliance (under Dalarath).

Elemental Trainer is in Searing Gorge for Alliance (Bottom Right), Arathi Highlands for Horde (Between Stromgarde and The Manor)

Tribal Trainer is in STV for Horde (middle-west, near Bangalash) and Feralas for Alliance (just past Thalannar in Thousand Needles)

Original guide by "name not given" :P

Can't find which lev u need to be to train 150 :(

I just started Leatherworking, and am at lvl 166. So far it is a very costly profession. Is it worth it to keep leveling- financial wise? I switched from Herb and Mining, which were great money makers.

I hit level 70 in only 8 dyas of /played time!!

Gathering Skills (Like Mining and Hebalism) have a good and consistent resale value in the AH, so they are both good paths for making money. Other tradeskills tend to be less so, with certain exceptions as you level them. Herbs for potions are in constant demand, and bars of metal are also consistently needed.

Leatherworking can work best if you are also a skinner, because as you kill to XP or Quest, many of your kills then convert via skinning into an extra piece of 'loot' that you can later use in your skill. I have killed many a beast to fulfil some quest, and loaded up on scraps, leathers and hides that I could later convert into skill ups and some gear that will sell decently in the AH. I play a druid and he is basically keeping himself equipped (unless a nice drop comes my way). I also have a lower level hunter who I keep well outiftted as a result.

If money is your goal, the gathering skills will usually provide a consistent income, even if that income at higher levels becomes 'moderate' instead of 'great'.

Decide what your goals are in tradeskilling (Money, equipment, the fun of making nice and great items, etc) and then choose a tradeskill to match.
