So I leveled my cooking up to 225 so i could cook Tender Wolf Steaks. I had 40 of them in my inventory.

So I but the spices I need and start cooking th3 40, and I jet off to take a shower.

I get back and my cooking level is still 225!! What?!?

Well, I just realized that I am at 225/225; never did the Tanaris quests to get further.

Boy, am I dumb!

Do'h! I've done that with a few professions, not as drastic however =P

I don't know if you farmed those or AH them, but either way it still hurts. Sorry for your loss.

well the good thing is that u still hae those steaks and i think they can sell in AH for more than the spices u got
or u can eat those as confort food

I always end up cooking more food than I can eat, including sending to alts. So while you lost 30-35 points on that, you’ll be doing more cooking anyway so it won’t be so bad.

There are even times I have to toss food just because I made so much for leveling up that I can’t possibly use everything even in 2 months of play time..which usually ends up happening since 2 months is a lot in RL time but in game time, it’s just may be a few hours a day if that.

Oh, 40 - that hurts.

About a week ago I was on an alt in Southshore and was about to cook up some bear steaks, 7 or 8 of them, when I realized I was capped at 225 so I mailed them to my bank alt (she returns them when she gets them and I get some extra storage space without going to the bank). Last night I was back on that alt and cleaning up some things when I realized I had those steaks to cook, along with two of something else that escapes me right now. I did the same thing you did and came back to see that I had forgotten I was capped.

So, yeah, we all do dumb things now and then. (An' all them poor bahr outside Southshore thought the slaughter wuz dun!)

UPDATE: Did the artisan cooking quest. Already had the zesty clams. Bought the cheese in Ratchet and got the eggs from AH (I wasn't about to go all the way out to the Hinterlands for the eggs). And voila! I'm at 225/300!

Ouch. Thats gotta' sting.

I admit, I did that at LW150. Started bulk-making my Hillmans, came back a few minutes later with no mats (hurrah!), a bag full of shoulders (hurrah!!) and... No skillups.

It hurt.

That's so rough. I did that with my cooking as well, actually.

Not as many as you, but it was about 15. It was still very upsetting.

Think thats bad, try making 100 copper bars for leveling mining, only to find it capped at 75.

Talking about cooking, I got to 375 on crawdads, but I am curious if there is any other recipe that is still yellow at 370 skill?

Lol, glad I'm not the only one.
I saved up all my ore and gems, smelted the ore and make my jewelcraft items, only to realize too late that I had reached the limit and needed to upgrade.

Just because? Also I can cook foods that give +spell damage or other stats. So it isn't pointless.
