I always take up herbalism, get it too 25 then quit, i just find leveling it really hard/lengthy, anyone got any tips too get to a level where the herbs become profitable?
herbs are always money makers. Sure it's not a lot of gold for the first few levels, but it is gold. It's the same for skinning - small profit for the lower levels, larger profit for the higher ones. All you are using is your time. If you find it hard or lengthy, I shudder to think of you trying to level mining...

QFT mike, herbalism is so unbelievably easy to level.
The only frustrating thing about herbalism for me so far, is getting to 50 so that I can gather mageroyal. Hate passing those by before then.
Just leave the herb tracker on and go about your business and it will level in no time. If you are looking to "powerlevel" it because you are just starting it on a higher level toon, then use OMG's sticky to find a zone at your level of herbalism and just keep running it.
Get Gatherer and it will keep a record for you of where you gather the herbs and you can go back every couple of hours or so for the re-spawns (not really sure of the re-spawn rate because on both toons I leveled herbalism with I never got impatient enough to go looking for them).

i thought mining was quite easy to farm, and easy to sell for some cash even at copper ore level. Just run around durotar, 3 oasis in barrens and its easy to level to 125. After that, it becomes even easier with 1k Needles. My mage is stuck at 225 mining at level 44 and cant level up anymore because theres no thorium veins for her to mine in the zones that she is in? (cant remember whats after mithril) But thats just me ^^
Ya i found herbalism crazy easy to level. I got to 375 before I even relaized it. Mounts obviously help a lot so it gets much easier after level 40. I found STV to be the best place to level it up since there are so many different herbs there very close together at that level so I would suggest going there.

The herbs really go for alot on my server. Especially <Swiftthistle> just because it's the main herb for <Swiftness Potion>. Alot of twinks make/take up alchemy (chars) just for that, even though most twinks take up eng for bombs and the goggles. I'd keep it up if i were u :D

Yeah mining is easy to level if you don't mind taking time out of your questing to do loops of zones. Herbalism is easily leveled just through the course of questing.
My lvl 40 herb/alchemist bought my lvl 60's epic mount and about half of his gear. Granted quite a lot of that was as much from alchemy proceeds as herb selling (transmute arcnite pre-BC FTW - now it's earthstorm diamonds, she'll probably end up buying his epic flyer too).
But really just herbalism is a tidy little money maker with zero effort.
