Blacksmithing Specialty ConflictFollow

#1 Jun 28 2007 at 10:24 AM Rating: Decent
Hello everyone, I'm new to Blacksmithing, but my main goal is to make the Dragonstrike mace, which is a Master Hammersmith item, however one of the ingredients to make it is a Dragonmaw, which is a Master Axesmith item! WTF?! I'm confused... does this mean I have to relearn everything in Blacksmithing just to switch specialties?? Also, to make the Dragonmaw, I need the weapon Drakefist Hammer, so we're talking 2 specialty switches. What's involved in switching specialties? What costs are involved to switch? Do I have to relearn stuff? To I lose anything important to consider? Thanks for your help!

Well, just like Green Iron hauberk or whatever takes Green leather armor from a leatherworker. The idea is, its up to you to find someone to get you what you need. Whether you buy it from the AH, or find the mats and have an Axesmith make one for you, they don't expect you to make it yourself. Kind of a pain, huh? :D

Wow, I see you are right, Alakazam's Blacksmithing skill page just listed it wrong under the axes, lol. Whew, now this makes a lot more sense. Now all 3 weapons are in the mace specialty and I won't have to worry about switching. Thanks!
