Where to get 350+ Gem PatternsFollow

I am currently at 355 and Have two high end patterns that I believe will make me good money, however getting there is going to be a bummer.
I believe that all of the rare recipies are drops, or rep vendors. My question to you is where do you find your recipies. Ones obviously of interest to me are Solid Star of Elune, Wicked Noble Topaz, etc...
Much appreciated in advance

Technically you could farm for patterns but the best drop rate for Solid Star of Elune is 0.19%.

Realistically, buying from the AH is the only way to get these recipies.

I bought 3 ring/necklace recipes from AH, average about 80g each, that helped me get from 360 to 375. Yea, it’s that painful. The gem cut recipes will be easier, you just need the gem, but the recipes are also more expensive.

My biggest advice is that once you hit 350, there isn’t much of a hurry to get to 375. If mats or money is a concern, take the time to work up rep to get some other recipe which may be easier to help you level up.

And let’s say you want to use one of those gems for you or your friends. In reality, most of the gem cuts pre-70 that you might use are just a few gold more than the gem itself. In some cases, even less than the gem. So do a kind of trade-off. Sell your gem, buy the cut gem. For a few gold, in some cases, you got the gem cut you wanted to have without having to buy the recipe and do it yourself.

The other thing is, maybe there’s a particular gem cut that is profitable. Go ahead and buy that one and level up on it, selling off your cut gem. You’ll probably make up the price of the recipe soon enough.

So true. On my server, the Nightseye and Dawnstone sell for less (currently) than the cut stones so each morning, I buy and cut one of each. Don't want to flood the market but it's almost guaranteed gold in the bank.

You have to be careful though - the cut-gems market will change as quickly as the supply chain does. I bought the recipe for Stormy Star of Elune because those gems were a dime a dozen (well, nearly) and now they're rarer than a rare thing in a rare gift shop.

Blue you were talking about a rep recipe, I havent been able to find one that starts out at 350 or even 355 which is where im at now. The only recipe i have that could help me is Purified Shadow Pearl, and let me tell you dude Shadow Pearls are friggin non existent. Thought I would do fine because I was able to find 5 on AH one time,... its been two weeks and not ONE. Ive even tried grinding them,... apparently they are a 1 pct drop off jagal clams which are a 10 pct drop off the Naga in the swamps, roughly a .1 pct drop. These are drop pcts of Epic proportions.
I can definitley see what you mean bout buyin cuttin and re sellin gems, and Im so down for that strategy. Problem for me is on Gul'Dan theres not a recipe goin for less than 300g, and im not the most adept at makin money. Quite frankly I have given up on my flyin mount until I can hit 370 JC as I have an epic crown pattern that I plan on makin my fortune on. So I suppose Ill just have to suck it up and grind out the 300g im just really not lookin forward to it.
Anyways if you know of a rep pattern or a place to grind for a pattern that is in the 350-355 range I would love you long time.
