hi well my profs are skin(100 somethin)/leather(75), and are getting me nowhere, so i plan to replace leatherworking w/ jewelcrafting, and was wondering if i should keep skinning, or go for mining or herbalism. anyways, thx for all ur help, i appreicate every word of it!

If skinning/leatherworking is getting you "nowhere", what makes you think switching professions will get you "somewhere"? And what is that "somewhere" you want to be?

If you want jewelcrafting go for mining. It supplies the materials.
Or if you want straight up money go for two gathering professions (i.e skinning/mining or herbalism/mining.)
But if oyu want jewelcrafting + a gathering definitely go with mining.

Skining is a straight up money maker with little/no extra effort. You have to kill mobs to do anything in this game. A large percentage of your mobs are skinable. It takes about an extra second now (nice add with patch) to skin what you've killed. No extra time,no extra effort and you're putting gold in the bank like a madman.
if you aren't already making money in another way besides gathering, then taking ore that you could sell and doing jewelcraft will actually hurt your bottom line, up until maybe level 350 jc.
also 75 isn't much at all. it basically means you haven't even gotten out of light leather range. i'd suggest to keep LW and take up another gathering skill if you need more money.
