Would i make more money DEing the outlands greens or just selling them?

Most green armor DEs to 2-4 Arcane Dust. Check the vendor price and compare against the price of a few Arcane Dust. It will depend on your realm's economy, so it's hard to say yay/nay without concrete AH data.

So in other words, what's the vendor price of the item vs. the AH rate for the probably DE yield?

In my experience, most it is more profitable to DE armor and sell Weapons.

Rough generalization here (mileage may vary):

OL armor levels 56-63 will typically give 1-3 Arcane Dust from DE. Most green armors will vendor for less than 2G. Arcane Dust will typically sell for 1.75-2G. Armor level 64-70 will usually give 2-5 Arcane Dust, but vendor for 2-3G. So, usually better to DE armor, since the value of the arcane dust will be greater than vendor price.

Weapons are probably better to vendor, most times. Most OL weapons will DE into 1-2 Lesser Planar, or 1 Greater Planar. These will go for about 1.75-2G each for Lesser Planar and roughly 5-6G for Greater Planar. A lot of the weapons seem to vendor for 6-8G. So, given variability in AH prices, it's often more profitable to vendor the weapons.

I can't quantify this really well, but from experience that is my general practice --> DE Armor, vendor weapons.

Good info, azwing.

I usually just d/e everything. If it has particularly good stats, I’ll try to sell it on AH a few times on the 8-hour limit..after that, if it doesn’t sell for what I wanted it to, it’ll be disenchanted. I probably lost more gold trying to relist!

If the stats aren’t that good, then I d/e because I figure, I’ll always make more gold in some way…money quest reward, kill 100 humanoids, being forced to vendor useless bop rewards, etc. But having a supply of mats on-hand for an enchant, without buying impulsively from the AH at some killer price, is useful to me.

When I use the 30 Arcane dust sitting in my bank for some enchant, it doesn’t feel as expensive as buying 30 of them for 60g-75g depending on the current going rate.

I have the same experience as azwing. I check how much the item vendors for. Below 4g it's almost always better to DE, so I DE systematically. Between 4g and 6g it's a grey zone but at worst I seem to get even so I also DE most of the time. And above 7-8g I tend to sell.
