Great news for chefs!

I had been wondering why the outlands recipes don’t use other mats…not even spices. I guess it was a case of unfinished recipe list.

Strangely, while I raised cooking on all chars that I play, I’m not so thrilled about new recipes. It seems that as a function of eating and gaining stats, I just need one kind of food that gives that particular stat. Not so interested in all the various kinds of food giving the same stats.

Though these are new recipes with new mats and stats, I’ll probably make do with my current setup most of the time…food/drink as needed until full. Towns are always nearby that carrying 20-30 of each usually is sufficient when questing.

More importantly they are reducing the buffs from the food the skyguards are selling. If you can get it for so cheap at vendor, why bother leveling the skill to 375?

I'd like a bit more originality in the buffs. For the moment it's a lot of +spi coupled with +sta, +agi or +str. And a few give +spelldam. Really nice, but getting boring. And we also need a few funny ones like the Deviate fish recipe.

I'd like to see some variety also. It would be nice to have some foods with some more variety on the stats it gives.

The Skyguard rep food was scaled down to 20Sta/Spirit before patch 2.1 was released. Crawdads are still the only 30 Sta food in the game.

This will be nice, as Trout are the most frequent catches.

And yeah it would be nice to have some fun recipes, but for now I'm just glad that they made such good stat boosters available at all, instead of just sta/spi and mp/5. <3 Golden Fish Sticks...

Right now we have:
+str - Clefthoof,
+sta/spi - Crawdad, Feltail, others
+spell dmg - Basilisk, Bluefish, Serpent
+heal - Darter
+mp5 - Sporetail
+agi - Mudfish

It's a pretty useful range, now they can add in a couple fun recipes with patches perhaps.

The range is nice... if you have Fishing at 375. Otherwise you can as well buy food from vendors. I always thought that Cooking was too tied to Fishing. I would like Cooking to provide something SPECIAL at lvl 375 that cannot be had in another way and doesn't need to lvl another secondary skill to 375 to get.
