Unlearning LW specialisationsFollow

hey guys,

maybe you can help.

I am trying to unlearn tribal leather working as I was gonna use it to make gear for my GFs character as she is a druid. But she can't wear any of it as it is BOP.

So I tried to unlearn the tribal part and it said it would cost 25G, so I click ok, nothing happens. I try again and again, nothing. no money leaves my character and I can't lose the skill.

I am lvl 46 and my leatherworking is 246, I have only learned the basic stuff like the feathered breastplate, none of the specific tribal items yet.
Do I have to have learned at least 1 tribal only pattern before I can unlearn the skill?

I have the tribal icon in my spell book and I paged a GM about it, but he just said the fuction was working correctly and it was all ok. But clearly something is either wrong or I am doing something wrong.

Any suggestions?

If I'm not mistaken, you can go to the tribal leather trainer and unlearn it. I have not stopped by my DS Leatherworking trainer in a while, but I thinkg he gave me the option to "Train" or "unlearn ..... Leatherworking"

I'd give your specialist trainer a try.

I did try to unlearn it at the tribal train but when I clicked OK it just kept doing nothing.
I will learn the next pattern she can teach me then try it then, cos all the patterns so far have not said specifically tribal only.

thanks for the input

I believe this is a bug, I've seen others report similar problems with unlearning tailoring and alchemy specializations on the worldofwarcraft.com Bug Report forum.

I got a really helpful GM last night who talked me through a few things and even offered to wait with me while I tested them. In the end it was my add ons that was blocking it from working. I disabled them and it worked and then re-enabled them.

Yes, as Iceman states, I just found a thread that suggest removing addons then trying to unlearn the specialization. You can just copy the Addons folder to another location and then move it back when you're done.

Why would you do that? Just disable the addon at the character screen, and enable it when you're done.

Two ways to accomplish the same task. /shrug
