Disenchanting QuestionsFollow

Hello everybody,

I bought WoW (+ BC) a few weeks ago, and have been happily playing it so far. I'm a mage and after reading the manual tailoring and enchanting seemed good choices. Later I was told that it's a very good combination that many mages have. Good :) I'm still pretty new to this game, but starting to learn.

Anyway, I'm trying to make money using this combination, but I'm struggling. On the forums ppl suggest that disenchanting is a extremely good way of making money, but my experiences are only so-so.

Buying cheap green items, or tailoring them, and disenchanting them works very well. I make tons of dusts and essences this way. The problem is selling them again for profit! There just does not seem to be enough market for them! I sell some on the AH, but most just end up in my stash. In theory I'm growing richer very fast, certainly the value of all items I possess is huge. But it doesn't translate to gold.

What is the solution to actually sell the materials you want to sell? Dropping prices does not seem viable - that'll only cut my margins, and the competition will no doubt do the same.

The secret to selling those mats is persistence.
There is no AH fee for them so you can post them over and over again until they sell.
I would reccomend using two mods though, auctioneer (and scanning the AH every day) and CT_Mailmod (or any mail mod with a 'open all' option).

If the market is already so low that to undercut any further would mean negative profits, the chances are that there's already too many people doing the Disenchanting thing for it to be a viable money-making profession.

You could try looking at a different level range for the items you're DEing, to get better/lesser quality dusts and essences, so you've got a different market - either at a higher or lower level than currently. Alternatively you could try to sell the enchants you can make with the materials you've gained through DE.

Also remember that the weekend market is generally different to that of weekdays - more people are around and, at least on my server, the amount people are willing to pay also goes up. However, getting the auctioneer add-on and regularly scanning the AH will tell you this kind of thing.
