Lvl 53 Druid, no professionsFollow

#1 Jun 01 2007 at 6:20 AM Rating: Decent
I currently have a level 53 Night Elf Druid, however I don't have any professions. I am interested in starting two, but don't know what to go for. I'm not sure If I want to have a gold getting profession, or something that is helpful.

I was leaning towards Herb/Alch or Skin/Leather. I'm a feral druid, so I don't know how useful Herb/Alch would be, but then again I would make good money. Now I have absolutely horrible gear for my level, so Skin/Leather might help a slight bit towards that problem. But soon I will be entering Outlands, and I'm sure I will find better gear faster than I will be able to level up my leatherworking to get to make the better gear.

Any suggestions?

Not a troll, but I wonder how the OP got the gold to level that high. Training without an income gets expensive.

To the OP: Go with skinning/herbalism. You'll have to go back to your starting areas anyhow to level either one. If you try to level either in the zones that are your current level, you'll find that the mobs/herbs are too high a level to skin/pluck. Move on to higher level zones as your skills increase.

Sell all herbs/leather on the AH, and amass gold until you have enough for your epic mount. Then continue getting gold until you have enough to power-level whichever profession you finally choose (LW or Alchy).

It isn't hard at all. I currently have 300gold on my druid. I know how to play the AH, and I don't buy anything unless I absolutely need it.

Thanks for the input, ohmikeghod

Yeah w/o a profession, selling everything would prolly get him enough coin for a bit.

OP as for leatherworking/skinning or any crafting (except for enchanting) you're a bit late in the game for that. No offense, but you're looking at some serious crafting before you're going to make anything that will upgrade your current equipment. Prolly not worth it IMO.

I'd go Alchemy. Even the very low level potions for str/agi/etc are better than not having them. So Alchemy will help out as early as skill lv10ish.

Just IMO tho.

I'd prolly go Enchanting/taioring (so you can disenchant your tailored items), but that's just me. With enchanting you can run lowbie instances for greens to disenchant, afterwards you can hit the main city and hand out free enchants for a bit.
