Wouldn't it be cool if engineers could learn how to make a mechanical mount. You could learn the schematic through a quest at lvl 40, and 60. Post your opinions.
Gnomes alerady get a mech mount. BUT.... I like the idea of the flying mount being a jet pack. for 375 engineers who have the adaqute riding skill could use it to locomote arround.

i like the idea of a jet pack, but a gnome would make it. so sometimes in flight it would have to fail and it would always be when your really high off the ground :) it would have to have a hugh quest line and require some expensive mats.

I would want a goblin spec one, that essentlay ammounted to a ACME rocket straped to my back
They could make it for both but with different effects.
The goblin on is essentially a huge rocket that lasts for a while and is fast and has a chance to explode wit heavy damage when started
Gnomish can be used as normal when turned on [has to be turned off] but is slower than the rocket and has a chance to sputter and die midflight.

Imho, to be fair with the lore, it should be some kind of gnomish gyro-rofl-copter or goblin's mini zeppelin.
It should be a recipe obtained by difficult quest, done in 5-man dungeons, something like epic druid fligth form.
Though, it should not be as stupid netherwings or skyguards - weeks of plain farming

But anyway, yeah I like the idea.
I think it would be cool if it looked like a little tank, with crome spinners.
