Hi, I'm a JC with my skill level almost to 300, and I was wondering what level I need to be to train beyond 300.

Edit: NVM, I found it. level 50

Do you mean you have to wait until lvl 50 to train further? I am lvl 40 now and my skinning is almost at 300, it really sucks I will have to wait for 10 levels to get better at skinning :(

Trade skills are different from gathering skills, you can go to max lvl in a gathering skill with no lvl req. Trade skills have them at lvls 10, 20, 35 and 50.

It's a little worse than that. The trainers are in the Outland. Unless you can get summoned or ported, you aren't getting there until L58.

That sucks, I am lvl 43 and my skinning is at 300 too. But what is the advantage of have skinning above 300 anyway? You cannot go and skin in the Outlands at lvl 43, you get killed all the time, so what's the use?

Er... skinning certain mobs in Azeroth? IIRC, a few mobs required skinning levels only available via items. Not only can you still skillup from mobs in Azeroth (albeit rarely) you can skin these mobs too.

I am a 360+ skinner so hopefully I can help you with this.

You can always find a 65+ mage on your server to make a portal to Shattrath for you. Be prepared to pay the standard price of 2g for this portal.

In Shattrath, you will find the Grand Master Skinner and you can increase your skill level to 375 with him. I cannot remember how much this is, though.

I have found that I can still gain skill-ups from mobs in Azeroth occasionally. If you're just getting into 300, you should be able to increase your skill while still being in Azeroth.

Hope this helps you. :)

IIRC, the cost is 9g. But, I could be mistaken as I got my training for Skinning and LW at the same time from the Grand Master Trainers in Thrallmar and I remember a pretty good chunk of coin leaving my bag.

Best bet is to be prepared for 5-10g.

Its not that bad, mages are offering services everywhere.
I got all my baby alts heartstoned in Shat so I can use portals.
The only problem is I always forget I dont have flying mounts on them so I keep falling off instead of using elevators >.<

Hey Evilgrin

Have a Mage friend (or guild Mage if applicable) port you to Shattrath. Arrange to have a 'Lock friend in Hellfire -Lock friend summons you to Honor Hold. If neccessary, offer party bribes/tips through your Lock friend to "rent" a group. Pay once you arrive in HH. Once there,go see the trainer inside the Inn entrance.
I used this method on my lvl 52 (at the time, lvl 60 currently) rogue Now to do as you plan to do. I also had my lock friend summon me to the portal to Outlands,so I could pick up the FP there,as the zones around and to either side of the step platform in front and the area behind the portal was perfect for leveling up mining skills too,as there was alot of Fel Iron to be had,and no mobs patrolling or guarding them back there. The master mining trainer is also located in Honor Hold,so that was convenient. With ores mailed from my miner lvl 70 warrior, and other mats from storage alts,I was able to cap out Jewelcrafting (and mining) in very short order.
Not too far from where you are now (appx.lvl 300),you will be able to prospect adamantite, which is where you want to be.

Good luck :)
