I couldn't tell if they turned them back on or not with the new patch. Has anyone made a discovery since the patch? I've got a bunch of potions I've been planning to make but I've been holding off waiting for the discovery to be turned back on.
well i think so but open a ticket and ask a GM to make sure.

Yes, discoveries are in fact turned on. Made one myself (Same as mentioned previously)one day after upgrade. Surprised the dejibbers out of me.

I had read somewhere that you have a chance to discover a recipe the first time you make a higher level recipe. A few days ago I made an Earthstorm diamond and discovered Transmute Primal Shadow to Primal Water. I made another today and discovered water to shadow.

Nope, unfortunately. You were very lucky, I'd say. Especially with the shadow to water trasnmute. I'd love to have that one.

I have learned the xmute shadow to water and the flask of fortification since the patch. Before that I hadn't made any discoveries.
On the other hand I got my first discovery yesterday, Flask of Shadow Fortification.
