My main is a level 55 Tauren warrior. Right now, I have her at 295 mining and 300 skinning. I like the extra money I get....but sometimes tire of having to buy weapons/armor/potions. When I first started out, I had mining/blacksmithing. But I found I didn't really like blacksmithing and having to try and find and do all the extra stuff needed. I've also heard that there's a lot of endgame items you can get that are equal to what you can make. I don't like Engineering and leatherworking and tailoring are useless to me. So, I'm looking at Alchemy with herbalism as a possibility. It would be nice to make my own rage/health/resistance potions instead of having to buy from others. It also looks like there aren't many annoying quests one would have to go through. But, if I switch, it means I would lose all the points in BSing and skinning. Or should I just wait until my character is closer to 70 before thinking about changing?

Why even change at level 70? the gathering profssion is great, Need some leatherworking gear? well skin the mobs and ask somebody to make you a present, hell most folks want to get a free skillup, if they are at cap... offer to give them extra skins or the like to make your item. the only thing you miss out on is the BoP stuff(or the stuff that requires leatherworking). I likely would not have pikced mining as my second trade, eventhough initaly it is far more profitablbe, but their is less you can do with it.....Now if you dorp mining and take up pikcing flowers you can just find a alchemest to make your potions.

Or do what you are doing now, it tends to be FAR FAR FAR less work to work the AH and buy the stuff you want VS trading or crafting...
