Alchemy Cauldrons - Coming SoonFollow

#1 May 17 2007 at 9:06 AM Rating: Decent
Currently planned in Patch 2.1 is the ability for an alchemist to make cauldrons of three kinds: Cauldron of Major Frost Protection, Cauldron of Major Nature Protection, and Cauldron of Major Shadow Protection. Once created, these work like a Warlock's Soulwell and allow up to 25 players to grab conjured major protection potions.

Here's the catch: In order to learn the recipe for a cauldron, you must know the recipe for it's respective protection potion and make them to discover the cauldron recipe. ([wowitem=22922]Major Nature[/wowitem] can be purchased when Exalted with Cenarian Expedition. [wowitem=22921]Major Frost[/wowitem] is a drop off Nexus-Prince Shaffar in Mana Tombs. And [wowitem=22924]Major Shadow[/wowitem] is a random drop from Shadow Council Warlocks in Shadowmoon Valley.

The word, however, is that the chance to discover these cauldrons are much much greater than the other discovered recipes. Somewhere on the order of 30% -- CAVEAT being this could be an inflated chance on the PTR and will be reduced when it goes live, but that is just a guess and hopefully is wrong.

Pretty cool for using your trade to benefit your raid. Although I'd imagine not so cool for someone making protection potions to try to sell. Doubly so even, for one less customers, for two people will grind them to try and learn the cauldron and flood the market.

The potions you get from the cauldron are unique, and are as such treated like conjured items. They'll disappear from your inventory if you remain logged out for 15 minutes. In other words, not sellable on the AH.
