Level - 39
Alchemy Skill - 250

So basically until level 58 I just chill with Alchemy, at which time I in Outlands I can get my skill raised to 375 and do my choice of one of the Masteries?

And to become Master of Elixirs, I need to do quests that originate and are done in Outlands? (ie do not worry about specializing for another 19 levels).

Or is it that Alchemy Masteries are meant for level 68 toons? (which is what was implied in one of the posts somewhere).

If you can convince a friendly mage, you can get a portal to Shattrath City at any time. You need to be level 45 to train Master Alchemy, though.

There is information about what is required for the Master of Elixirs quest in the Trade Skills FAQ, but it involves running a level 70 instance, and like all the mastery quests, is only available at 68.

Thank you that is exactly the information I needed.

I am so appreciative!

Grand Master Alchemy is acually lvl 50 to attain.

Here is the List of Trainers

Though if you are at 300 prior to reaching lvl 50, you can still be ported (by a friendly mage/warlock) to Shattrath and there are 4-5 recipes that can be taught at Alchemy level 300. Now, getting the mats for those recipes is another story. A good number of them require Felweed which is native to Outland (or so I am told. It would make sense that Felweed would grow in Felwood, but I guess that's not the case.)

Happy brewing! Smiley: boozing

I have seen on this forum contradictory statements that indicate the minimum level is 45. I am personally not sure which is the minimum level. Did you try to train Master Alchemy (no one can get Grand Master at this point) before 50, but could not?

The master of elixirs guy is in shatttrath, he has a quest like all the other masters that involves making potions and stuff and giving them to him

Well, I will let you know for sure in 1 and 1/2 levels. My home is already in Shattrath, so as soon as I reach level 45, I'll give it a go.

At level 39, your skill cap should be 300, not 250. To get master of Elixirs, you need to do two things. 1) You need to be honored with Shattrath Lower City. and 2) You need to complete a quest. I'm L70 and still haven't become honored with lower city.

Yeah I'll get to 300 when grinding out my 40s (purposely doing at least part of that in Swamp of Sorrows).

Thanks for the tip about being honored with Shattrath Lower City.
When I start grinding in Outlands I will look for quests raising that faction.

And I beleive that you have to do some instances for the specialization part

Black Morass for Elixer spec. Have to loot 10x Essence of Infinity off of Riftkeepers, and the drop rate is pretty low. Took me 3 full runs.

A correction: you have to be friendly with lower city. The elixer Alchemy quest sends you to the Black Morass in the Caverns of Time. 'taint easy.

I confirmed it in Shattrath last night that you do in fact have to be level 50 in order to get beyond 300 in Alchemy.

DrakkinFan, since your alchemy is at 250, you can get it as high as 300 by training in the Feathermoon Stronghold of Feralas. I think that requires level 35. I now becayse I was maxed at 250 by 28th level and I was so anxious to get to 35 to train.

So Level 50 for primary professions, level 45 for Fishing, and level 35 for Cooking/First Aid. This is what I think is right, anyone disagree?

Fishing is level 40. There is a quest that you have to do which starts on a small island just outside of Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh. (See below)

Quest: Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme (Fishing)

Bring a friend. Particularly for the 48-50 (Elite) Sharks that like to swim around the Theramore area. I had the honor of being snatched right off the beach by one in Dustwallow. He dragged me into the water and proceeded to smite me. (It was actually quite hillarious.)

After that, the next step up is a book which can be purchased in Zangarmarsh in Outland.

I believe the Cooking quest in Gadgetzan opened up at level 35. If you buy the stuff in the AH, you can finish the quest in seconds. I believe you need 12 Giant Eggs, 10 Zesty Clam Meat and 20 pieces of Alterac Swiss (which can be purchased right in the cheese shop in the Trade district of Stormwind.)

Last, the First Aid quest also is in Theramore. It was actually quite simple to do. That quest will raise your first aid and you will learn Mageweave and Heavy Mageweave bandages for free (don't buy the books.) - If you don't use bandages, make them and sell them at a vendor. You can get as much as 1g 40s for each stack of 20.

While it may suck to reach Nat Pagle at 35, that is the minimum level, not 40, for Expert Fishing (225-300).

This thread is referring to Master proficiency (300-375).

You're absolutely right, it is 35. My bad.
