It all started on Wednesday a week ago. A friend and guild-leader told me where the formula drops and we went grinding. We spent 3 hours there, with a couple of crapy greens dropping that I promptly disenchanted.

Thursday – I went and grinded for 2 hours with my brother. No formula, a green or two.

Friday – it took me 5 hours before I despaired and after getting a head-ache logged off after DE the greens I had gotten.

Saturday – I think the mobs knew me by my face already. 4 hours of grinding for 3 greens before our Kara raid.

Sunday – 3 hours. Got a blue drop that I sold for 80g and a couple of greens.

Monday – I had the day off, couldn’t move from home as we had people jogging in and out with packages and messages all day. 6 hours of futile grinding. Even the green drops were scarce.

Tuesday – and I’m there again, grinding for no formula for 2 hours and not even a single green drop.

Wednesday – after TVC came back up I managed to get in about 3 hours of grinding before the lack of formula drop got the best of me and I logged out, with onyl a couple of arcane dusts from DE green drops.

Today rolled forth. I was on my way to make Spellcloth when I decided why not. I’ll land in Blade’s Edge and kill the spell-thieves just so I could say I tried before heading over to Netherstorm. Not that I expected the formula to drop anymore.

So I landed in a safe nook in the camp that alreayd felt like second home and pulled a spell-thief with SW:Pain. Someting green formula drops and I learn it automatically. It took me a whole minute of staring at the enchant I had just learned before I realized I can now make the +40 spell damage enchant. I have to admit that I cried resulting in black streaks of Mascara down my cheeks and a very odd look from my father.

I didn’t believe it anymore and it happened! I know some people with their luck might have gotten it on first or second kill, I didn’t. It may seem a silly thing but the 28 hours I spent grinding for it make it almost a small miracle for me that I just had to share. I actually feel like hugging blizz employers instead of crushing their knuckles now. Or my knuckles for ever taking up enchanting.

Congratulations :) I'm one of those annoying people who got it in the 26th kill (not the 1st or 2nd - but still good), but I love the enchant so much - I would have kept going - just like you did!

This brings up a story from just a few days ago..

My elemental spec shaman was lvl 56 at the time (lvl 58 now, YAY outlands)and he is a leatherworker. I REALLY wanted the Blue Dragonscale Mail set, but was missing the rare recipe drop for the shoulders...

That being said i advertised in trade chat that i would pay a 70 10g to help farm for it and 20g if it dropped. Someone in obvious desperate need of money came to help (30g isnt very much to a 70 haha).

Friday- Start grinding on Cliff Breakers in Azshara (lvl 53-56 wandering giants), no luck whatsoever. Only found about 5 mobs total.

Saturday - Killed at least 100 and still, no drop. (About to give up)

Sunday- Last day of farming before i wait it out till some other lucky person sells it...and on the 142nd mob of the day, IT DROPS. I almost cried, wish i could say i did.

P.S - I hit outlands and reviewed my new LW skills only to find i could make these. NOW THAT WAS A LITTLE FRUSTRATING...but i still felt accomplished.

It's always seems to be just as you've given up and died a little inside that you get what you've been after for a life time!

Big congrats!!

Congrats to all! :)

I remember trying to get Whitemane's Chapeau with my warlock - I ran the instance 4 times in PUGs and was boosted 5 by my BF. Got more of her necklaces than I cared for. Then this 60+ priest in my guild was running a warrior through SM Arm, and knowing that I was looking for the hat asked if I wanted to come along and he'd run me through the Cath after he had helped the other guildie. Having all but given up on the hat but still getting some XP I though "why not?". And of course the hat dropped! :D I also got some nice free enchants since I let the priest have anything dienchantable that dropped in the Cathedral if it wasn't the hat - had been through it enough times by now to have anything else I could use. :D

Anyway, I must say it is almost nicer to get things after you have been farming for it for a while, it just feels so much more special then!

I feel you CyrraC...I'm still grinding for it. Off and on for a month now.

Swear I've killed 500 spell thieves and twice that many of the other mobs there at least. I'm so sick of those damn flesh beasts that run around.

When I finally get it I'm going to throw a party. I just hope I dont have to kill another 500 to do it.

Reading the OP's comments I decided this was a good goal to spend the day on, get me a new recipe and get soem respite from the overall faction grind.

Hour 1: Landed, got situated, started killing some Spell-thieves. Chant dropped on third kill... guess its back to rep grinding. Blah
