Question on Goblin or Gnomish EngineeringFollow

I have been grinding/mining/crafting pretty regularly and just dinged 35. I've been trying to research the benefits of each spec, so I can make the right choice. I admittedly enjoy gnomish toys, even with their fail rates. While Goblin explosives sounds more practical, as a hunter, I have enough to deal with managing a pet, and my own abilities to really want to bother blowing stuff up (albeit cool).

But my original reason for taking up mining/engineering was the fact that I use guns, and the ability to make ammo on the spot, is really handy. So, having not had much luck finding a decisive list/chart of which spec makes what, I was wondering, are the later types of ammo made by Goblin engineers only, or a universal craft?

All bullets are universal,

If you read the trade skill stickes you can get a idea what each spec makes, while i will admit it is not as up to date as the game, yet that dont matter. You are not even close to 300, much less the 310 or so you need to be to even start to worry about TBC stuff(that is less spec dependent anywho)

Thanx. That was all I was worried about. I got the feeling that was true, but couldn't find actual information confirming that. Guildmate took Gnomish route just a few days ago, so I should go with Goblin just on that alone. But, "If you want something done right....."

I am likely one of the only folks left happy with the trade, and i can say that in all honesty the diffrences are not terribly relevent.... In the long run.

for example when you first choose, there is no question in my mind that Gnomish is better(it all boils down to the Damage you can do at level 35 with a death ray). in time the diffrences fade(the player starts outdamaging the Deathray).

If you have a buddy who is gnomish goblin will be fun for you, for example you cannot make a net gun, but if you look close, the net gun dose not require gnomish spec to use, jsut to make, and it is not BoP, meaning you can have your buddy make you one(now this thing is usefull till the 50's)

in the end they both have some neat stuff, while you miss out on the Poultryiser(gnomish spec, can make and currently it is BoE not BoP) you get to make
Goblin Rocket Launcher
Binds when equipped
Trinket
+45 Stamina
Requires Engineering (350)
Requires Goblin Engineer
Use: Fire a powerful rocket at the enemy that does 960 to 1440 damage and stuns them for 3 sec. This thing has quite a kick though...
Cooldown: 5 min

Tenjen, in the end there becomes one question, more or less consumables?
(Be aware I talk in Trends and Tendencies, there are exeptions to almost all cases)
This is not like weaponsmithing or Armorsmithing(but I will admit the 300-375 push for eng is way harder than the 0-300 gambit), I have always found Engineering to be a reletivly low stress profession(mostly because Engineers are not AS fixated on making Coin with the trade and are out to serve themselves with it)

First thing to keep in mind about the two diffrent specs, the diffrences are huge at level 225-270 then they almost become the same trade again untill you get a few diffrences in the outlands. I am going to make a bold statment, and i am sure some folks will not agree with me but out of the "First" batch of spec spific items, No (BOP) Spec spific peice of gear will sevirly alter your gameplay at level 60 or beyond(the new stuff is a slightly diffrent story, mostly due to the fact i do not have a goblin engineer past 315, only gnomish)

So it is all about some fun, Goblin Spec tends to focus on blowing crap up(and I like that) While Gnomish tends to build overcomplacated ways to hurt our targets.

One thing to keep in mind is the trasnporter, Each spec can make 2 transporters, that take you to 2 seperate locations, for example goblin spec engineers warp to everlook while gnomish spec goest to Gadget....

Unfortuanly i can not tell you what spec is Better,Since I think there is little diffrence byeond symantics and a few items that become quickly outdated(why obsess over the Gnomish Death ray when you can do the same dammaeg with a WF strike?). if you are just fishing for a awnser? Go goblin, they have some fun explosives.

thank you! rate up!

ill go for goblin. The dragon trinket takes up a trinket space. I can keep my head free for a good stat helmet.
