I just picked up Alch last night and I am currently 366. I am looking to make some serious money but woundering what are some good recipts to grind for? And another question is what mastery should I shoot for? Thanks.

pre-bc the flask recipes were serious money, but I suggest you do not get any of them now. Seriosu money is just in the lvl 365-375 regular rep and drop recipes. Also in super health potions.

Your mastery should be in what you make the most of. If you like to make health and mana elixirs and could use extra ones go elixir. If you like long-lasting potions go potions. Transmutation is much mrore expensive to master and relatively useless so I don't suggest that.

I just started a Mage, who has alchemy. I plan on going potions for my mastery, as there will always be a market for them.

I think you mixed up the terms "elixir" and "potion".

I personally chose potions because as a priest, I go through mana pots like candy. I don't use Alchemy as a money maker; I use it for personal/guild benefit, so this choice made the most sense for me. I'm just not diligent enough about transmutes to justify going transmute mastery.

I am probably going to go for potions as soon as i am high enough xp level. I never use elixirs because i am afraid i will waste them lol. Transmutes make some good money. I charge about 5g for arcanite bar transmute when they have the mats and that takes like 30 seconds. thats 5g in 30 seconds, plus if you get an extra one you could sell it at the AH. People will always need potions. Keep that in mind. I normally keep my potions to myself but if i get an abundance of 15+ (When would i use over 15 potions without coming back to a major city?) Although major healing potions make NO money. So potions for personal benefit transmute for IDK lol and elixirs for using them if you like them. The choice is yours.

What would flasks be under? Elixirs?

Yes they are elixers. Becuase elixers buff you while potions are consumed and done with on the spot.

Swiftness potions sells well, those going to wsg will like a swiftness potion for flag carrying. You have to know the time when people pvp in BG's most often though. Most likely its weekends and such.

Flasks are indeed under Elixirs, but with the coming nerf to them the market will be more limited. But for a rather hardcore guild a Master of Elixirs would certainly be nice.

Transmute Mastery isn't really for arcanite bars (a bit obsolete nowadays), more for Primal Might and rare jewels. There's definitely a market, but transmutes are once a day and I can feel the frustration building up because it will necessarily seem like extra transmutes won't proc as often as extra pots or elixirs (what I mean by that is that I brew potions 5x a day without thinking about it, and I will get extra proc every couple of days or so at worse, whereas I might do one transmute per day and I will be very "focused" on the outcome).

Re: what Redistayn is staying, major healing pots are... kind of obsolete too. But the endgame healing and mana pots are selling very well, same for quite a few elixirs (e.g. major strength).

I took transmutes and so far had only one proc. I did lot of free transmutes for friends and guildies, but I must say if I charged around 10g for each one I would still be booked for months. Cooldown is annoying definitely but some things should be rare and appreciated, price of some endgame transmutes is justified with time one needs for them too.

Since my potions making depends on herbs market (I dropped herbalism for tailoring), I dont make many of them anymore and am quite happy with transmutes.
