Many people have various ideas about tradeskill changes that include new skills, new items, etc.

I’m sure the following idea has been thought of before but I was thinking recently about just allowing a character to learn 3 primary skills. It would affect the economy in a way because if you had 2000 characters on your server faction, now there are potentially 2000 more of a new person doing tradeskills.

It also helps the player so that he doesn’t have to level up another character just for a tradeskill. In the vein of making things “easy” for the average WoW player, this benefits the player who may not have as many characters running around.

Now it may be interesting that a person takes 3 gathering trade skills. Talk about over-abundance of supply mats. So perhaps there can be some limitation at least, that 2 can be skinning/herb/mining, but the 3rd must come from the others: tailor, LW, JC, Engr, bs, etc.

An interesting note might be that someone may be able to choose and level up 2 BS skills, one for sword-making, one for axe-making, as an example.

What do you guys think would the ramifications to the game economy or player capabilities if something like this were to be allowed?

I think you should have 1 man tradeskill untill lvl 20, then you can choose to have 2 untill lvl 40, then 3 untill lvl 70, and if you do a difficult line of quests, etc. you can learn 4 at 70

The thing that comes to mind when you say this is what about proffession only items? Say you make a Master sword and axe smith...not only can they make these powerful items but they can also use them...that's just insane. Think about the heart attack Blizzard would get trying to balance all of that out?

Another question using the same situation, how would you level these two skills? Have a different craft window up or something?

As much as I would love these kind of things, I think the actual game experience and making it happen are a snag that has to be resolved.

I think it would be wonderful if we could have 3 proffessions but are limited to:

~two gathering proffessions only
~can have all crafting proffessions if you so choose but no doubling up (i.e. master axe and sword smith)
