Obviously I am new to this but have found my way to the trainer and the button to confirm the training is greyed out. Is there something I need to do first? I have bought the rod but am still unable to take the tarining. I have read the booklet with the game but it explains nothing that helps me. I am a lvl 22 Human Mage.

In your skill book their is an enchanting button. You need to make a runed copper rod before you can start enchanting other things.

Thanks for the reply. I assume the skill book and spell book are the same thing? I have looked in my spellbook in all the tabs and have no mention of enchanting, any other ideas?

I assume the button is not in my spell book as it will not let me take the training due to the 'train' button being greyed out and not being clickable.

Thanks for the helped but problem solved. I believed that this was a skill like fishing and not one of my 2 specialist strades and now know I was wrong so have sorted it. School boy error I am afraid!
Well I'm glad everything worked out for you. Just as a tip, there should also be a "Disenchant" skill in your book, that you use to break down green or better quality items to obtain enchanting materials.
Do you already have 2 primary professions? If so, you must drop one first.
